Isn't infrared supposed to look different?

ilimel In reply to dragoncaretaker92 [2011-06-03 23:13:46 +0000 UTC]
your thinking of thermal infrared, this is the infrared just beyond red.

dragoncaretaker92 In reply to ilimel [2011-06-03 23:31:01 +0000 UTC]
But the human eye can't see infrared by normal means, right?
Wait, those ARE cherry blossoms, right?

ilimel In reply to dragoncaretaker92 [2011-06-03 23:38:07 +0000 UTC]
yea, this is the only way to see it. And no, their just normal, green leaves. They just come out white in infrared.

...So how does the picture get modified so we can see it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ilimel In reply to dragoncaretaker92 [2011-06-04 00:08:40 +0000 UTC]
its a special camera that records infrared.

dragoncaretaker92 In reply to ilimel [2011-06-04 00:19:14 +0000 UTC]
But the picture has to get modified at some point, otherwise we wouldn't be able to see it.

the camera's red green and blue pixels are sensitive to IR as well. What you get is this type of result.
