I removed the internal infrared blocking filter and put in a infrared pass filter. I offer the service on the site, there's a lot of cameras that can be converted : [link]

I know, I saw the site! I'll be converting my camera next month. Lumix FS3. Can it still take normal photos after I get it converted?

It only takes infrared photos after a conversion.

Beautiful! Do you know which IR filter is good for a Nikon D3100?

ilimel In reply to NicolasKao [2010-12-14 14:50:42 +0000 UTC]
The filter choice doesn't depend on the camera, newer models are less sensitive to IR so you need to keep the shutter open longer. After that there are 3 main types of IR filter, the 650, the 720, and the 850. The 650 gives darker blues, the 720 is the standard filter, and 850 takes only black and white. I prefer the 720nm because it makes leaves white, whereas the 650 makes them yellow tinged.
