From what i can see in the picture, it appears as if it's an ice sculpture with a frost texture on the faces and mushrooms. I don't know if that was your intention. it's pretty cool how it turned out.

Iecee In reply to jondonkong [2006-05-26 05:30:29 +0000 UTC]

Great! Btw does your deck consist of the cards only, or is there a book with description of the cards as well? Look in my scraps there is a real frosty dream tree.

jondonkong In reply to Iecee [2006-05-26 22:17:21 +0000 UTC]

cards? book with description? is that an expression or are you being literal? I have an old jumbo set of cards without it's description. I also have recent regular sized packs and unopened, some with descriptions and some without.

ohh. ha lol. that's funny. I though it was a German expression telling me that I sound crazy for what I wrote. No, I didn’t receive any other message besides that one.

Iecee In reply to jondonkong [2006-05-27 17:27:20 +0000 UTC]

lol. It would be nice though, it gives you something to think about. To answer your question; No it turned out this way because I didn't glazed it, only waxed it with brown shoe polish and wind sun and rain did the rest. In my scraps is a version of an icy dreamtree.

At first i thought you had sculpt it all in a stump of wood, and used the fungus as the material

It's beautifully handicrafted.

A wonder, what clay did you use?

Iecee In reply to bitterforever [2006-03-11 07:46:31 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I used white chamotte, I don't know if that means anything to you:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bitterforever In reply to Iecee [2006-03-11 09:06:23 +0000 UTC]

Hey Irma!

Thanks for the info, i guess you used very fine chamotte then, it's good to always use chamotte for strenghten the cheramic in the process
Not sure you use an ready made clay but i when worked in clay (sculpt) added the chamotte myself, usually i used a very grainy chamotte then, to get an structure

Iecee In reply to bitterforever [2006-03-11 09:48:13 +0000 UTC]

Hey Sorg ,
I used the grainy sort not the fine one because it is an outdoor object. Did you sculp something? you didn't submit. I would like to see it, since it is hard to find any sculptory here on DA

bitterforever In reply to Iecee [2006-03-11 10:23:22 +0000 UTC]

I have some very bad images on one piece but all my cheramics i made i have in Portugal with my EX-girlfriend So it's no idea think of showing any of that I'm sorry....i will take a look on that picture and see if i dare upload it

I love how you have men, women, and children. It's like a family of people who have reached nirvana...
I love the detail considering I thought it was a real tree trunk with ceramic faces. The mushrooms "growing" on the sides really perfect the piece.

As for the faces, they are so human, and I especially like the top two the most (child and man).
Astounding job! I've been thinking about taking a ceramics class at my college here, and you might have won me over with this.

[I'm ing this; no doubt in my mind]
