Anthony, I have felt your pain, dude. I had to watch my beloved stepfather wither away and die because of esophageal cancer. I was right next to him when he finally passed...
And the worst part is, he died two days after Christmas. One of his last moments of full consciousness was when I gave him his Christmas gift, which was the full season 5 of Criminal Minds on DVD. He wanted to watch it right away...but there wasn't a DVD player in his room.
