Freya wandered down the stairs, her head still tender from the now fading migraine. In her hand, she clutched a few of the most recent letters from Farren. She wanted to sit with her sister in peace before explaining herself, or at least trying to. She stopped at the entrance to the kitchen, hovering in the doorway like a reluctant child. The rain had calmed down a little, but she could still hear the constant patter of water against the cobbles outside. Anju was pottering around the room, making something or at least preparing to make something. It took her a while to notice her sister.
“Ah, there you are,” she smiled warmly, “How are you feeling?”
“Uh, not too good, listen...” Freya felt the stress rise in her throat as she attempted to get around to her point. She glanced at the clock. To her surprise, it was approaching 7pm. “Oh my god. I'm sorry I'm so late. I didn't mean to miss the whole day.”
