Illustrations for World tour to NeoceneThis project is dedicated to speculative biology (futurobiology) and includes descriptions of animals and plants possible to exist on Earth 25 MY after humankind. You may choose and draw any animal and plant you like. The main term is the correspondence of its appearance and coloration to the existing description. Style and technique are also as you wish, but realism is preferable.

This is so completely freaking AWESOME! It's body reminds me of a genet or a weasel or a ferret with a bit of rat in it for the tail. I actually thought it was some obscure animal for a second!

I love the shading! It looks like it was sitting in the one ray of sun that shines through the trees into the dim forest.
And the face looks very real, like a living animal was staring back at me.

I'd say it is very possible. I mean we've got squirrels that leap from tree to tree. So why wouldn't it be possible for a tree dwelling rodent to take the place of lemurs and or monkey's.
