Lemurkat is an Amateur Illustrator and Artistic Dabbler. She loves the cute and quirky, weird and whimsical, ugly but endearing. She has been creating ATCs for over 6 years now and has created nearly 3000, with art in every continent except Antarctica and such out-of-the-way places as Chile, Guatamela and Madagascar. Currently she mainly trades, not sells, but she'd be more than happy if you'd give her money for her work!# Comments

Maybe I am mistaken, but did you once do a bibliofile for a small green dragon? I thought I saw something like it once...but I am not certain.

At first I thought you skipped the Q's and R's for your animal A day, but then I remembered that you have them earlier on.
I know this might count as a stupid question (pardon me), but you're in the S's which means...will you being doing our beloved little Angels of the Forest (silies ).

I am purposely taking a week off because a, we're moving house and b, because I want to organise it that the 700th animal occurs on the 2 year anniversary of this project. And, conveniently enough, I will be up to almost exactly the right letter to make it an extra special one (although I had to switch her with the siamang). So, look for one of Aurelia's family on the 16th October.

How does it feel to know that you have the animals all done (except for the ones that need coloring)?
But OMG that Yeti has me going I love cryptids (although a bit surprised you didn't add Bigfoot to go with it, although The Beast is very intriguing).Β

Hello! I have a question.
Are you the same Kat (Kataryna) Who made "Kataryna's Pokemon Jungle"?

Nikki-tine In reply to lemurkat [2015-04-04 17:11:32 +0000 UTC]
Oh, cool!
I'd look at the website a lot in elementary and middle school; Your pokemon and the artists who submitted art with you gave me inspiration at that time, and I sometimes still look at this art (From wayback machine) to find ideas!

lemurkat In reply to Nikki-tine [2015-04-04 20:28:15 +0000 UTC]
Aww, thanks! The site is still up (I think?) - but I haven't updated it in years (I cannot even remember my login). As you can see, my art has evolved somewhat from then! But I still draw Pokemon on occasion. I am glad that it proved to be an inspiration for you. It taught me a lot about writing and drawing - I'm just kinda sad I never finished the story. It also helped me forge friendships that have lasted - I finally met Mistie and NoOman two years ago on a roadtrip around the USA.

The site has sadly died a couple of years ago, actually. (I use the wayback machine for that reason!) If you want to finish the story, there's nothing stopping you (If free time is available, of course).
You've really improved though! I looked through your gallery last night. It looked familiar to me and then it kind of hit me that you were most likely Kataryna. Also, That's great! (Have you heard from Luna Ninetails? I've been looking for a place where they may be online so I can see their gallery too, as I really loved their Eeveelutions!)

Ah, I have a copy of it on my hard drive. It seems to be still up on Angelfire but is broken as all heck.
I've been writing orignal fiction since 2004, which is kinda taking up most of my free time. That and drawing loads of animals.
Unfortuantely I never kept in contact with Luna Ninetails. I cannot even remember her real name to google her

Ah, That's alright! (And you have a lot of experience, then! I'm not really a writer as much as an artist with multiple interests, mostly of anime/manga.)

Thank you again for the interest and the comment! I've seen you around, but I must have forgotten to hit the watch button. I've made up for it now, because your art is gorgeous, you focus on lesser known and weird critters, and it's always a pleasure to meet other zoology geeks and enthusiasts!
*Also, I read about you book; it's definitely on my ''to-buy'' list.

Thank you! I've always favoured the lesser appreciated animals. In school, my favourite was the aardwolf.

Oh I see it now. She looks huge, but yet tiny in it. But she's a pretty lemur and I'll say the first Silky to have an artistic sculture made for her. You know, with how it looks, it almost is like you can see the relationship between monkeys and lemurs and how they may had at one time been alike. Truly, I kind of like lemurs more for some odd reason XD

Sifaka do appear a bit more simian than, say, ringtails.
Just drawn myself a diademed sifaka for my Animal Alphabet.

What types of monkeys can be located in your story? I know Chike is a vervet monkey, but are there other types? including ones from foreign lands? There's some news, my shifter now has her silky Sifaka form and currently she and a Squirrel monkey are on a mission to save a friend (a RP actually). Do small apes also find their way? Like Gibbons (which are quite small)
π: 0 β©: 1
lemurkat In reply to KalahariMeerkatfan [2014-03-20 09:43:40 +0000 UTC]
Squirrel monkeys are a bit far away! But there is reference to Golden Snubnosed monkeys in book#2. So, African and some Asian. There may also be a mandril at some point, but he has ben edited from the plot. Probably will feature in a short story.
Not sure about apes, it is completely possible though. They wouldn't need to be small either, they are proportionally accurate to the RW critters.

KalahariMeerkatfan In reply to lemurkat [2014-03-21 22:20:52 +0000 UTC]
Oh...I guess if one were to get there then that would be a LONG journey, but quite nice to imagine. It would bring new insights, probably new ideas that the lemurs or monkeys present had never heard of. Kind of would be interesting if a South American monkey could try to survive in a different environment and vice versa. Maybe apes are on different fields, they could be slightly aware but yet really don't pay much mind to the processes around them. Could be nice if they could teach some things to the Lemurs though (It would probably require patience)

lemurkat In reply to KalahariMeerkatfan [2014-03-22 03:58:21 +0000 UTC]
Well, they do have sea travel, so not completely out of the realms of possibility.
I think the different sorts of apes would have different personalities - orangutang and gorilla, for example, would be more serious and philosophical, wherease chimps and gibbons would be party animals.

I use prismacolor pencils, sometimes polychromos.
I am not trading at quite this present point in time, but will be up for one come December (I'm writing a novel for NaNoWriMo), so let me know if you're keen to then.
