Alidenne S'rell is an orphan of the Dominion war. Her parents - one a Starfleet Surgeon Commander and the other a Science Division Archeologist - both having been killed on the USS Pavel Checkov during Operation: Return - the battle to re-take Deep Space Nine. While the young Caitian girl eventually came to terms with her parents’ death, it set her down a completely different path. Instead of following in either of her parents’ footsteps as a physician or a scientist, S’rell enrolled at Starfleet Academy in San Fransisco, and entered Command School in Presidio during her fourth term. She graduated from both in 2387, fifteenth in her class in the Academy and first in her class at Command School with honors for both Tactics and Diplomacy.
During her career in Starfleet, S’rell had the opportunity to serve as both helmsman and Tactical officer on the very ship she was born on, the USS Pavel Checkov, under the command of Captain Amelia Abernathy - an old classmate and friend of her parents. During a mission to the planet Aliosh in 2395, S’rell was cited for her own bravery and initiative in saving not only the Checkov but also two other ships with diplomats aboard from Nausicaan raiders while the Captain was incapacitated ant the First officer out of contact, earning her the Starfleet Medal of Valor, and a promotion out of zone from Lieutenant Commander to Captain at age 28.
Instead of being given her own starship command, S’rell was assigned a project at Utopia Planitia Fleetyards, dubbed “Century-2”. During this time, she gathered some of the best and brightest - and most unconventional - minds in Starfleet uniform: Commander Harry Kim, Lieutenant Commander Nog, Lieutenant Selarra - the fist Romulan in Starfleet, and Surgeon Commander Alyssa Ogawa.
In 2399, two weeks before the beginning of the 25th century, the newest, most powerful Starship in the Federation was launched: The Century-class USS Enterprise, NCC-1701-F, under the command of Captain Alidenne S’rell.
