Without preparation, that's a VERY risky maneuver. Your best bet is to get up to level 40 and make sure any and all Wind artes and spells are disabled.
To make grinding easier, it helps to learn how to combo larger enemies. One hit during battle increases the EXP you earn by 2% - a 50 hit combo doubles the EXP you earn. In Lloyd's case, you can run him as Technical rather than strike for Sword Rain Alpha. If you use it 200 times (which is a LOT but doable) Lloyd learns how to chain level 3 Specials to it without jumping into the air. Combine that with level 3 Specials like Raging Beast and you have a 12 hit combo easy.
Incidentally, which ways are your charas swinging? Tech is better for Genis, Lloyd and Raine, but Colette, Kratos and Sheena are good either way.

Yeah, it's not good for Kratos and Colette to bounce around. I recommend Kratos be a T while Colette S. As for the Summon Spirits, they are not optional, but getting them this early in the game is very beneficial.
As for Sylph themselves...
The shield user is your biggest annoyance, since she has access to Air Thrust, Air Blade, and on higher difficulties Cyclone. Go for her first, then deal with the bow user - her arrows can penetrate her targets, so you can't knock them out of the air with melee attacks like ordinary arrows.
MAKE LIBERAL USE OF PHOTON! Whenever Raine isn't healing the team, have her spam Photon like there's no tomorrow. It both penetrates guards AND stop enemy attacks, making it useful for breaking a boss' combo.
And above all else, make SURE you use Unison Attack every chance you get. You should have access to several Compound Attacks right away. Some examples I can give are Mjolner (Colette's Pow Hammer and Genis' Lightning), Photon Tempest, Lightning Tiger Blade (Lloyd's Tiger Blade and Genis or Kratos' Lightning) and Pow Blade (Power Hammer and Tiger Blade).

There should be some equipment you can get that increases your resistance to Wind, but I can't remember where. Either Palmacosta or Asgard. There's a charm that boosts Wind resistance by 20%.
