Thanks! I had so much trouble finding a template I can use with photoshop that will let me know the safe area.

Just scale your aspect ratio to the closest match with a little math. I no longer make non-U.S. stuff. Thanks!

Is It ok if I use 9x12 paper for the b4? Because my measurements for the trimmed size on my paper is 220mm but instead of 310mm in height it is 300.8mm in height which is 2 ticks (on a ruler) away from 310mm which is very close if you measure it with a ruler.
Can I still use b4 measurements cuz of this or should I use other measurements?BtwΒ
I already calculated the bleed and it turns out I don't need it since I can just do the trim size and I don't have paper excess so I don't need it and when the finished product is done it'll only have the trim. So I only have problems with the measurements.Β

You can use any aspect ratio you'd like so long as it's proportional to your target product size.
You don't have to use a bleed, but if that is the case, use wide margins and don't draw to the edge to avoid printing errors.

Ahh I'm so frustrated because I'm trying to use these measurements in manga studio but it says that the bleed area is too large and doesn't fit within the page (which doesn't make mathematical sense!). Is a smaller bleed area still suitable for printing? Say, 10 mm instead of 20?

HeyTayHolt In reply to ttante [2013-07-13 01:28:37 +0000 UTC]
I'd have to reload and play around with it. But I thought Manga Studio came with A4 & B4 templates in its library??? I believe the bleed is 10 mm, though. Don't forget that when you:
240 mm - 220 mm = 20 mm / 2 = 10 mm
330 mm - 310 mm = 20 mm / 2 = 10 mm
--------------------------------
Divide 20 mm by 2 to get each side, and you get a bleed of 10 mm. ^^
You could check elsewhere, though. It's been so long since I have looked at these sizes, my memory is hazy.

Can you post one without the pse folders? My version of pse (pse 8) won't open them.

Maybe in a while. I have to find the old files on my hard drive. I'll keep it in mind!

What category should I put 9x12" paper into? A4 or B4?
π: 0 β©: 1
HeyTayHolt In reply to catqueen13 [2011-06-07 04:58:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, you can pick a4 OR b4 so long as the aspect ratio is the same. It's a matter of preference. What I do is put the number into Excel and calculate what would fit. It's preference really, but a4 is of course, closer since it's smaller.
