Description Miniature painting I did for my very dear friend . It was a birthday surprise, as my friend has received it by now, showing it here should be save.

Acrylic on paper, 85mm x 35mm. The background is gold patina, it doesn't quite show in the photo. I have uploaded another view, unframed, here: [link]

I should add, I am generally not a big friend of heavy gold frames (there are exceptions of course), but in miniature art they are perfect. They do look like little gems!

This is awesome! It's like you are giving us an opportunity to peep through a little keyhole.. Reminds me of this fairy tale 'Alice in Wonderland'. One more time: awesome work, I like it a lot!

P.S. Sorry for my poor English

Whilst I am pointing things out (), I thought I might also mention that I think you meant Irises, rather than 'Lilies'. I mentioned their being irises when I shared your photo of it on Fb in the hope that you may see it without my directly telling you. >.<

I'll... be in this corner.

Oh, I actually meant Lilies in this case, as we call those 'SchwertLILIES' in German! So...what we call 'Lilies' in German is 'Iris' in English? Actually, I did not know that. Why is it the other way round then?! Maybe I should just stick with the Latin names in future...

Oh, I actually did find out that irises are 'Schwertlilien' in German; I should have added this in my earlier comment. I figured that was why you shortened it for this. If you look on the German Wikipedia entry for iris, however, it makes the distinction that, despite the name, it bears no relation to actual lilies (lilien), as in Lilium.

I'll shush now. *Hides*
