Harris Eagle (Parabuteo unicinctus). Her name is Nova (portuguese for "New") and she lives in Viseu, according to the man that was holding her.I had the pleasure to be able to pet her feathers. It was exhilarating and I even wanted to hug her and bring her home! xD
I got hypnotized by her eyes. Every time I did a click she seemed to look straight at me thru the lens of the camera - and then posed! I know, I know... it prolly was just an automatic response to the click, and not an action filled with intention, but still... I got hypnotized by her eyes and feathers... so soft!
I was unsure whether to put this in APN or Photojournalism, since this was taken in the middle of a medieval fair in coimbra (2009), but APN won, because it only features this magnificent bird!

Actually I believe the American Bald Eagle is coming off the endangered species list, the shot that I Have posted was take at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee USA Dolly Parton has an Eagle sanctuary there.

I take a few shots of them once and awhile. Lucky enough to live near a trainer. xD
