Description Wow, it's been a while since I posted! Here's the second in my Kindred Spirits series. I love the idea of a big Clydesdale and some cut little European House Sparrows. They just seem to go together. The title refers to the Sparrows gathering strands of his mane to use in building their nests. The original is 18x18 acrylic on illustrationg board. Prints are available, as is the original. Looking forward to painting more of this series. Horses and birds two of my favourite subjects!

Very beautiful. I love all your horses and birds! Love all your work. Ever consider doing more pegasuses? That sounds wierd but I think I spelt it right...

Hmm I haven't done any winged horses in awhile. I really should do more. Keep an eye out here! I've always plurized Pegasus as Pegasi but I'm not sure what the rules say

This is such a lovely picture. I'm amazed by the sheer detail, I can see the muscles moving under the coat of the horse (or is it a pony?) and every feather on the birds' wings. I love the slightly miffed expression on the Horse's face. They've got enough to worry abut with spring so close without small birds pulling their hair out and the birds are so cheecky and industrius. They don't mind the horse shaking them loose, they'll just come back again.
Very, very beautiful.

This is a relly lovely piece. All the tiny details in it, it's atmosphere... this and I love both... sparrows and draft horses. ^^

The only thing that's a bit off is the really empty background... I am sure it would have leveled up the picture even more if you ould at least see some nice sheep clouds and maybe some meadows or fields.

Part of the series is that I want to focus solely on the animals and not have any distractions. I have had this comment on the first one in the series too, so you're not alone It might be interesting to add in some clouds or fields digitally to just see what it would look like in contrast to the original.

Oh, I didn't know that. I just saw this pieace alone and the thought I uttered just jumped into my head. ^^

Hmm... I just checked the first picture of the series (the gypsy) and I don't know why, but there I don't think the empty sky is bothering me so much like here. :/ I fear I can't really explain this...

That's the joy of looking at art. Sometimes you just can't explain why one painting will draw in and another will not

It is quite a pretty and well done piece but I agree that there's something off about the legs. They somehow reminde me of human arms for some reason. Hmph. Great details though!

It's probably the shoulder that's throwing off your perception of the leg. I got tired of fighting with that part of the leg finally

Hnn.. The legs look right to me.. o.o T'least, that's about how my uncle's Clydesdale was built. Just loving this one in general.

I love the detail you put into your work, but I think the legs are too thick, too bulky looking even for a Clyde... the birds and the rest of him are wonderful tho! Keep up the good work, I love your gallery
