Description Here is TTC 4209, a 1987 UTDC / Can-Car Rail ALRV, working route 501 Queen on Queen St. West in downtown Toronto. These articulated streetcars are usually found on the 501, although they may occasionally make appearances on other streetcar routes as well.

The ALRVs are currently the only articulated vehicles in the TTC's fleet. At one point, the TTC had a number of Orion III Ikarus articulated buses, but they were all retired due to frame corrosion issues.

Some of Mississauga's buses are like that, and the new Toronto Subway cars that run on the Yonge line are articulated.
I have always found them to be very fascinating.
I <3 this photo!

We have a number of articulated buses here in Montreal as well, and they are used on higher-capacity routes. They have been a smash hit ever since they first arrived in 2009.

:3
I loved watching how long they were when I was a child, the way they bend around corners.
I was actually recently in the Subway cars that are articulated, it's more convenient to have those, if one wishes to walk inside, rather than being trapped in a car.

Oh heck I will subscribe, as I do wish to see more photos of Transit.
You are most certainly welcome!

We have articulated buses here in Montreal, and they've been a smash hit on some of out busier bus routes. They arrived in 2009, and have been performing well ever since.

The new articulated subway cars are pretty awesome as well. You can literally walk from one of the train to the other without ever having to exit. It's pretty convenient, especially if you want to move away from some shifty character sitting near you.

Thanks for your subscription, and stay tuned for more great transit photos .

Argh, unfortunately in Mississauga, they got rid of ALL of them.
They were the New Flyer buses which were built in 1997, which is old for a bus and now they are doing the same as Toronto and Brampton. It used to be called Mississauga Transit which I grew up with, which they now call Miway...Uhhhh okaaay.
Express buses are blue and still go under the name of Miway, not like Zum.

Ha! It's about time they brought that type of Subway car into the Toronto Subway though, when I look at the rest of the world's Subway cars, I feel a tinge of shame, but alas, not anymore. Just a tinge though, although that is quite mean of me. Oh gosh yes, I see shifty characters whenever I go on the Subway, makes me think of New York City Subway, which I still have yet to ride and experience....;-;
Although the first time that I rode the articulated Subway cars, it was totally crowded and I could not move! Argh, to be squished by hundreds of other people was suffocating!

^^ You are most certainly welcome, and I shall deffo start taking more pics of Transit every which way I go.
I have a New York one somewhere in my files, I'll have to upload on Friday!

MiWay tends to retire buses after 16 years of services, and then promptly replaces them with an equal or larger number of new ones. I never really understood the change in branding from Mississauga Transit to MiWay. I guess marketing works in mysterious ways.

I've actually ridden the New York City subway, and it was surprisingly quiet. Nothing happened at all, which allowed me to have an enjoyable, uninterrupted ride. Hopefully you get to experience what is arguably one of the world's most famous subway systems one day .

Carry your camera with you everywhere you go, because you never know when you'll encounter something cool, bus-related or otherwise. And if you do get some interesting pictures, you can share them here on dA . I look forward to seeing your new pictures .

Yes, as does Montreal, which is where I'm from. It seems lots of big cities have some articulated buses for their higher-capacity routes.
