This picture has a lot of tell...

First of all, how many of you have grown up watching animated movies that are animal adaptations of some of the most beloved stories? Those like ROBIN HOOD (Disney, 1973), DAVID COPPERFIELD (NBC, 1993), LAPITCH the Little Shoemaker (Croatia Film, 1997), Saban's Adventures of OLIVER TWIST (1996), The Legends of Treasure Island (Filmfair/ITV plc, 1993), and TOM SAWYER (MGM, 2000)?

It seems like the 90's was flowing with this kind of trope, which TVTropes called "Anthropomorphic Animal Adaptation". It's like as if they were extremely popular back then. As a matter of fact, back in Fall 2018, I had an idea.

I thought up of a faux movie poster for an animated film based on a classic story. What story did I went for? Why, THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW (1820) by Washington Irving [1783 - 1859]. It was fun drawing characters like Ichabod Crane, Brom Bones, and even Katrina van Tassel in animal forms. Though it was inevitable for me to make Ichabod a literal crane.

The only think that was tricky for me to come up were the credits. Names of people involved in it: from producers to companies that distribute the film.

However, my first attempt was a slight mess. I want to make it better. So I kept the old one from 2018 for reference since it has all the rough sketches and the credits already set up. I set the picture aside, working on other projects until last year (which marks the 200th anniversary of SLEEPY HOLLOW), I went back to working on my spoof, but on another piece of cardstock.

I worked on it until it was later shelfed again. But hey! Last night (Wednesday, May 12th), I got the motivation to finish it off. It's been complete! I originally planned to add this to my BigCartel collection, but today, I feel like posting it since it's been forever since I've posted anything.

There are two versions of this picture. The complete artwork and the other with credits and a title.

Ladies and gentleman, I present you a 1996 movie poster of a forgotten animated film, entitled....
