This is for a pal of mine. , who's been having a rather rough time as of late. I wanted to do something to cheer him up.
Meet Shaney Smurf, the Shaniest Smurf around! He's really one of a kind, so yes, now "Shaney" is a real word...cause really there is no one else like him. And as we know, smurfs are named after their strongest traits: Brainy is Brainy, Clumsy is Clumsy, Grouchy is Grouchy and Shaney is Shaney. Get my drift?
Shaney Smurf loves Italian food, especially pizza. He has two beloved cartoon characters he has been drawing for many years named Pierre and Andre, who like to throw pies at each others' faces. They are from Paris, which is Shaney's favorite place in the world.
Hope this makes you feel better, Shane!
(I am in the process of organizing artwork right now, btw, and as soon as I dig through all my stuff I will find your comic and I plan on coloring that very soon. Just have to dig it up.)

You had the care of getting together all Shane's characteristics and tastes -and his dearest Pierre and Andre!! The colors are great, and you knew how to take advantage of the paper texture. Terrific!! I really enjoyed it.

Thanks! I used Berol Prismacolor markers, mostly, and a few Crayola markers for a bit of it.

I am not making fun of Shane in anway, only he spoke about in a video once when he was 4 he spent a whole summer pretending to be a smurf!

Actually it was a whole year, from summer of 1982 to summer of 1983, when I was four to five years old. Yeah, my younger self would have loved this picture. This is the next best thing to actually BEING a Smurf. Too awesome.

What is it with you and colouring? Really I could stare at this all freaking day, it just looks so lovely. I especially love how you did this leaves and sky but, then again, I think it all looks marvelous.
Your lines are also so smooth and nice and it's great how you used different thicknessessssss... sorry. 
The details in this are also fantastic and well, as already mentioned, I could look at this all night.

Actually it looks SO MUCH BETTER in person than in the scan. Scanners tend to like to bring out all the ugly little uglies in a picture, like marker strokes...
Aw, but thanks! I just sorta take markers and start scrubbin' colors on there. No rhyme or reason really... but you flatter me, as always

But... That's why it's so great, it even looks brilliant "post scan".

I can't help but laugh at the mixture here, I love Italian food and everything else is all about France. LOL LOL. Quite a mixture there. I'm not even Italian at all, but I am slightly French (Canadian).

Hey cool! Well, you're a good friend and you been through the ringer lately so I thought you could use something to cheer you up. The idea came to me at work a few days ago.
You're definitely most welcome. Glad to do it. Like I said, there may be faceless, nameless jerks out there that don't know you at all but just remember who your real friends are, the people who really know how "Shaney" (pretty much synonymous with "cool")
