Description The third release of the "inside the ---" series!

Don't jump the gun, this is not proof that I've left my artist block. This is actually a picture that I've had laying around for about four weeks. Sorry to deprive you guys.

is it me or does the pilot seat look like a small stool?

shuvvers look cool and mostly thought of them as long range bombardment ships. big laser you see. also how many crew this ship? along with the pilot and comm crew are there more?

It is a stool. XD

Yep that's what they are, pretty much space battleships I guess you could say. I'd say a crew of 3 or 4.

they could have at least made them bigger XDD

small crew for such destructive ship!

Half-dude In reply to Sandwich-Anomaly [2010-01-10 09:14:59 +0000 UTC]

Why would you want more people in one craft? It's common to want as least amount of crew as possible if not self-automated. That way there's less casualties if it gets blown up.

just saying... besides something like the shuvver may not even be right there in the front lines, more like in the rear providing fire support

If that simulation is accurate from Dib's Wonderful Life of Doom, then we know that they ARE used in close combat when the need arises. I'm just saying, it's not really a smart thing to do to try and pack a lot of people into one combat vehicle.. even if it is rear support.

Very technical and throughly drawn out and designed. Not much I can say that hasn't already.

This can come rather handy when it comes to role plays. The entire 'inside a' series that is. You truly are making the IZ universe like the Star Wars universe. This is a great achievement.

With more knowledge of the ships and the irkens themselves, the more realistic and the more fun rps can be made. With details like these, one can easily capture the enviorment and make for some fun ideas. Something very rare anymore. In the end, once you role played enough you realize that there is simply not enough to rp off. But, you are making the foundation for a new era in the IZ fandom.

Ah <: D you believe in my goal huh? Thanks so much.

I've not seen many RPs that include the insides of the ships.. maybe this is why.. lack of knowledge? Anyway, if it helps that'll be awesome.

Gvozdi In reply to Half-dude [2008-11-15 01:54:20 +0000 UTC]

I support your goal, all the way man!

It would be fun though. The intense, claustrophobic environment that is only more epic when battle takes place. Having knowledge of the ship helps a lot with this idea.

Sure hate to be in one if you got hit by something. Implosion hell... that or vacuum hell.

Gvozdi In reply to Half-dude [2008-11-15 02:10:29 +0000 UTC]

I kinda imagine the ship to be similar to the early levels in doom 3. Where the lights flicker on and off and you are in these small hallways. I can imagine being knocked off a platform due to a turn, change in speed, or impact.

Half-dude In reply to Gvozdi [2008-11-15 04:32:08 +0000 UTC]

Haha, a doom 3 player, welcome brother. Anyway yeah, sounds accurate.

Gvozdi In reply to Half-dude [2008-11-15 04:36:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, only difference is that demons don't jump out of the small set stairs and claw your face off. That and I'm pretty sure that irkens are smart enough to duck tape a flashlight to their gun.

Half-dude In reply to Gvozdi [2008-11-15 06:57:28 +0000 UTC]

Irkens defiantly have the duck tape mod.

Wow, I really adore the details. Love the concept of the ships being powered by dark energy, very interesting. ^^ And once again you've been able to successfully put detail in an Irken ship.

As for your art block, I hope you'll break out of it soon. When I have an art block, I just randomly draw some random characters or ask people what to draw. XD Sometimes an amazing idea can pop up right out of that.

Awesome work dude! I'm glad you did this. The Shuuver was always my favorite ship in the armada. And as always, your attention to details always amazes me. Everything is always so well thought out. That concept of the ship being powered by dark energy is quite interesting. Great work as always. You should try making one for the Ring Cutter. I wonder what you're gonna think up for that.

HUZZAH A SUMBISSION!
I really really appreciate what you do.
Of course you'll be expecting a big ol' paragraph by Tiger, right?

Well first off, the series you're doing. Provding such detailed references to Irken Machinery and other areas and referencable ideas is very highly beneficial to all fans. Those who reject your ideas would be able to get an in-depth model and use that to base their own theories on. Those who do agree can use these to get a life-like feel of the subject you are showing.
Such detail comes in handy when writing about these certain vehicles or machines. People may even start to provide very detailed animations based solely off of your sketches! You are providing the precident of all Irken tech references, and therefore should be recognized as such. So, I congradulate you, praise you, and encourage you to make more. For as these series are truely inspirational. Your details are always favored above all others, and as for that art block? It will soon meet its match! There is no other artist on dA with your IZ fan skill! I have recieved no contact by JV and he blocked me from AIM before I could get a chance to mention this. (( I wasn't thinking about your references when I decied to tell him he was a Victim of disorganized thinking. Any other comment would leave me with no reply, but alas! He did reply! I felt honored. Then he blocked me. Either way that doesn't lower my chances of contacting him for as he would not be able to determine that was me, and I will not give up contacting him. ))

I hate to not be able to provide you with a long response to your long comment. But I enjoyed every word of it, not sure if you're trying to break me out of my artist block, but this is the stuff that helps me out of it.

You've outdone yourself yet again, Sir. This is absolutely awesome beyond a shadow of a doubt. This looks logical and functional, and makes sense.

Quick question though, for size comparison, how does it stack up to the Spittle Runner? It looks like it's a little smaller, or I'm imagining things. Either way, top notch work as always. Keep it up, man. I hope to see more stuff like this soon.

PS: If you're still interested in needing help for gathering a one-all collection of everything Irken and IZ encyclopedia, I've got some stuff I've been wanting to discuss with you idea wise to see if it would fit in. I want to help as a fan to provide my fellow fans with a resource that would prove valuable for anything IZ related, fanfic, RP, whatever, you know? Again, just let me know if you're still interested in my contributions, I want to go over them with you.

You kid man XD, at school I'm the most unpopular guy there, so there's no way I'm that awesome. haha

I'd imagine the Shuvvers are a little bit larger then Spittle Runners.. But seeing as they move about at the same speed I think they're about the same.

How many times are you going to remind me of this? XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshBSide In reply to Half-dude [2008-11-11 23:06:56 +0000 UTC]

I'm in the same boat as you are, I have few friends, but by God, they're some of the best ones anyone could ever have, heh. So, I kid you not.

Well, I admit I keep pestering you about it, which I apologize for, I'm hoping to brainstorm with you on Yahoo and IM back and forth and whatnot before I start working on anything. I have ideas, but you seem more knowledgeable of the more canon elements of IZ. So between the two of us, I think I can make some pretty informative stuff for the fans.

I've been looking forward to the next in line for the 'Inside' series. Once again, your attention to sheer detail and placement for all the parts impresses me greatly. I also like the idea you added in about the Dark Energy engine. Seems like technology the Empire would definitely have on hand. I like to imagine the little figures of the crew running up and about the ship, getting to their stations and what not. Nice work as always. ^^ Also, best of luck to conquering that art block.

Circles-of-Gray [2008-11-11 03:46:42 +0000 UTC]

Fascinating as always It's always good to see art that fleshes out the IZ universe.

If you don't mind me asking a total nerd question, what role do you imagine the Shuvvers serve in the order of battle? I personally always thought of them as escort frigates and scout vessels given their number and size relative to the Massive and Spittle Runners.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Half-dude In reply to Circles-of-Gray [2008-11-11 22:47:06 +0000 UTC]

Naw naw, if you're wanting a scout vessel you'd want something fast, small, and quite. This would be a perfect fit for the spittle runner. No, the Suvver actually serves the role as "bomber" actually (in battle at least) almost always working in coordinated groups (as stated) of about 3 or 4 pounding the cities below with their laser blasts.

I can say this with proof as well. This is seen in the deleted scene in Door to Door:

Probably my favorite scene EVER, pitty it was cut.. and so short.
