I...I just did research for a comic. That's...gah. I need to wash my hands.ANYWAY. Yeah, I know, that's not really how Mario came to be--first there was Donkey Kong and JumpMan and the first Mario Brothers game and blaaaah blah blah, but just stop and think...what kind of bizarre mind would it take to come up with a mushroom-centered world full of dinosaurs, killer fish-vines and clouds with little faces?
...Shigeru Miyamoto's, I guess.
And who's the other guy sitting across the table from him? I scoured the Internet for like fifteen whole minutes trying to find someone else vaguely attatched to the production of the Mushroom Kingdom, but there really wasn't anyone. So he's, like, a miscellaneous guy. Actually, he looks alot like Satoru Iwata, Nintendo's current president, but he wasn't working at Nintendo back then. Mumblemumblegrumble...

Acutally, few know this, but yes, Β first there was Donkey Kong and jump man, but then there was tappers. Tappers was Mario before he became Mario. And despite that fact that he want from a beer slinger to a superhero that saves princesses, I still feel he got a demotion when they turned him into a plumber. Β But then again, everyone forgets Tappers, even when he was showcased in Wreck-it- Ralph nobody even bothered to notice him, and kept asking "where's mario?!?"
It took alot of mental strength for me to not facepalm at those moments.

Oh wow yeah! That was in Reck-it ralph!!! I kinda noticed that he looked a lot like Mario, when in fact it's Mario that looks like him. Awesome! Sorry I wish I knew more about old video games but I don't.
