I’ve just been in a Gaster mood lately. So here’s some fanart :3, If you use it for anything just be sure to give credit (I'd prefer to MylCreates on tumblr/tapastic/twitter instead of this account), and I’d love to get a link ^_^

THEORY TIME! \OWO/ (Warning Spoilers!)
I always liked the idea of Gaster being related to the skeleton brothers, Another artpiece I saw demonstrated Gaster as a skeleton without teeth. I decided to run away with that speculation which would explain his toothless skeletal smile. He has cracks in his face which would mean it would have to be made of something like bone (unless they are depicting scars which would be better illustrated in a lighter shade if it was on skin). Although he doesn’t look entirely like a skeleton to be honest. He has no nose like the skeleton brothers and no visible bone structure and no skeletal fingers on his hands yet so much about him (his history, name, font etc.) links him to them…
So what if he was like a fusion, like an Amalgamate?
The melty deformed properties of an Amalgamate seems to suit his character design. His once skeleton fingers could have been fused as the mitt like appearance we see, and fleshy skin could be the cover up of his once skeletal nostrils making him appear rather human-ish in form or a skeleton with just a blanket of incomplete skin and without cartilage like what would have given form to a nose bridge etc? (then again Frisk is illustrated without a nose either *shrugs*)
Perhaps as part of his dark experiments he could have tampered with Determination. Perhaps he was involving experiments with previous humans or a human (possibly Chara just to follow popular fan-theory of their relevance to each other), tampering with their soul (that they no longer have? or perhaps the absence of an actual soul tampered with the final result? Chara had to be once human right? Yeah- Chara had a soul because Asriel fused with him to cross the barrier, but what happened to Chara’s body and soul after Asriel turned to dust on the flowers and became soul-less Flowey? Being soul-less would describe Chara’s ways, so what happened to it? Perhaps Gaster could have been involved with this?)… resulting in the partial, unstable fusion (and possible accident) of a half-formed human perhaps? With determination being linked to the god like powers of resetting and saving, this particular fusion could be further linked to Gaster’s situation and appearance. I’d love to hear more of what your thoughts might be on this idea \>w>/!
