Me thinks the color makes this look redonkulous....This is one of my etching prints from my print making class that I worked my ASS OFF on during my final semester at college. I REALLY enjoyed the class and wish I had taken it much earlier during my schooling so I could have focused on it a bit more.
It was just like drawing on paper!...except substitute paper with a copper plate and a pencil with a carving device.
I wish I had more skill in the technique but it turned out really well. My instructor was pretty supportive... he was also pretty easy on the eyes. Young guy... pretty gorgeous. *sighs*
Ultimately I'll wanna end up trying to color this with watercolors just because i wanna see what it would look like - Mixed media for the win!
It'll look much better than what it is now so I'll just replace this image with it and scrap this. 
Newsflash for those who haven't noticed... I LIKE WINGS!

Yup I drew it out then I traced a graphite "ghost" image on top of it then scratched that in. It was actually really simple scratching the image in, it was the acid bath part which gives it that dot effect that was the bitch. XD

Sounds hard to carve metal, though, this must've taken a lot of time and skill.

Actually after it was coated in Asphaltum (totally mispelled...) it was a synch to carve into and that's what I LOVED about it. It was like drawing and fine details were easy. =3 Still it took a good 3 weeks to finish and MULTIPLE etchings and burnishing to get it to the point i finally got to. Good times... XD

Really? Wow. Maybe I should try this one day, it sounds like a lot of fun. Kinda hard, but art in general isn't easy anyway. :3

He was nice looking but he got on my nerves with some of his ways of running the class. There are plenty of good lookin fish in the sea... I just got to FIND them.
