Build: Well muscled "dad bod." His first silver hairs sprouted up around his 19th birthday, and the premature grey has only spread since.
Personality: Good natured and mild, he takes everything in stride. The way he sees it, so long as his belly is full and his animals are content, things must be going pretty well-- what more could he ask for? His fuse is very long, and it takes alot to anger him. Once acchieved, he's quick to calm down, though he will remain disappointed for a long time, and depending on the severity of the crime, he may never forget.
Dispite being friendly, Rai has always been a solitary man, coming off a bit socially awkward to most. He does his best though, and that's good enough for him.
History: From the beginning, Rais' life was a simple one. Hailing from a nomadic goat herding tribe, his family thrived on the land and all it had to offer, and what the earth couldn't provide they gained through barter and trade with the various other settlements they happened across in their travels. The lastborn of seven children, Rai's duties were to his parents, tending to their livestock and to them. His brothers and sisters had all gone their separate ways by this point, starting families and raising herds of their own. At 20 years of age, Rais would've like to join them, but his love for his mother and father kept him home with them. Eventually his family became too old to travel with the rest of the tribe, leaving them stranded in a much harsher environment than they would've liked. By the time he was 28 years old, both Rais' mother and father had passed on, leaving him alone in the world with their wiry mutt Ishka and about 30 gamey old goats.
He was able to manage well enough on his own, Ishka being there to pick up his slack, but over time the life of a goatherd became less and less appealing. He was tired of this, yet wasn't sure where to go or what to do instead. In a spur of inspiration he managed to flip his entire stock the following spring, the recipients being another travelling band, who's trading route routinely crossed paths with his own. From these same people he purchased a single Jibita and enough supplies to last both himself, the horse, and his dog for at least a month. Rais left on the horse that same evening, unsure of himself, yet still seeking some kind of adventure.
And so began the ballad of the Riceboy.
