Awesome shot! It is amazing how close to the ground that jet is during that steep take off. I have some side shots I may post one day.

I know! I saw this shot and it's hard to believe that it's just a couple of inches from hitting. And I'd like to see some of the shots you have ^.^

blue angels...interesting. Like british red arows. but blue. copycats....XD Brilliant shot too. I also find it interesting how, with hi-speed film cameras, that it is possible to see the condensed clouds that form above its wings when it pulls up, not necessarily at take off but at other times where the pilot generates great pressure.

The Blue Angels started in 1946. The Red Arrows started in 1965. WHO copied? Hehe ^.^

But yeah, both film and digital cameras can capture that stuff very easily anymore

I used to take awesome air show pictures with a $100 Kodak camera.

...although my $600 Nikon is FAR, FAR better... hehe

better in size, quality, speed....all? i would hope all for that kind of cash.

GTX-Media In reply to lycan-rising [2010-09-13 17:28:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah... hehe...

Although my Kodak had better zoom to a point <.<... But the fact that my Nikon is 10.2 MP, zoom's not a huge issue.

lycan-rising In reply to GTX-Media [2010-09-13 20:23:27 +0000 UTC]

XD true there. I guess zoom doesn't make too much difference, if you try going all the way in you would need lots of attempts to get a good shot.

GTX-Media In reply to lycan-rising [2010-09-13 23:07:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, zoom DOES make a big difference in certain applications. When I got my 70-300mm lense, it made a HUGE difference in the quality of my Air Show shots.

oooh, well then- fair enough. some people doing photography got really excited when one of them said he was getting an awesome lense, so thats understandable.
