You could have a point in the neck being a bit long, haven't thought about that. I'll have to ponder that for a bit, to see if it should be changed. Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated!

Nice one. Very funny too - "Shut it" made me laugh.
I'd love to read the full story once it's finished. I hope you decide to post it up.

Thanks. It's a work in progress thing and I have not decided where it will be published if it will at all. But I appreciate the encouragement!

I'm sorry, can't offer anything in terms of advanced critique.
But I wanted to say this is jaw-droppingly good.

Wow, Griatch, amazing! What a complex scene this is, and it took only 14 hours! How many layers is this? There's so much to look at, yet the focus stays with her, lol, awesome. I love the holograpic cockpit, made me think I'd love to fly a ship like that! Then I read that the figure below was her real body...and I took a look at the cables and such...and decided I'm just fine staying on earth after all
It may be a tragic story, but this scene makes it look like it offers eyecandy, action and humor as well. "I will remind you later then." made me laugh, lol. Also reminded me of you...did you base the ship's personality on your own?
It's a great pic, I can't see anything wrong with it. I know I would have done some things differently, but my style's just different. Even her hair is good Lovely face she had btw. That's the same woman that you did a face tutorial on, right? She looks better here, there's a smoother transition between the colors on her face.

Thanks Gaeva!
14 hours felt long for me ... but at least all those tiny details I spent time on wasn't a total waste if you found lots to look at.
This one is ... hmm ... 14 visible layers I think, it turned out to be pretty complex an image to compose in the end. The physical body in its cocoon and all background colour is on one layer, The star field on one, and I think I did her body and her clothes on separate layers as well. The virtual cockpit controls around her has its on layer too. All the other layers are just shadows and bright highlights applied in various ways.
Lol, yes, that nifty virtual cockpit sure comes at a cost, doesn't it. Her body couldn't survive the G-forces if it was not completely restrained (it's actually supposed to be imerged in a shock-absorbing fluid too, but then it would have been difficult to show in the image). Nevertheless, the virtual controls are shiny, and she can pick whatever outfit she likes for her avatar.
Hehe, I haven't thought of modelling the ship's personality after anyone, least of all me. I really sound like that?
And finally thanks for the comment on her face, glad you found her (and her hair!) pretty . It is, as you already noticed, the same character I did the face tutorial on. I had one heck of a time making her recognizable, so I'm glad you saw the connection.
I would be most interested in hearing how you would have done things differently, had you made this in your style. Always interesting to hear different views and strategies on going about things!

Looks really good Griatch.
One question and once comment, is her right arm extended all the way, or is it just the angle that kinda makes it look like it is? and on her left arm, her forearm and upper arm appear to be out of proportion (like the elbow is located too far down the arm), unless she has really long arms and the angle of the forearm obfucates that fact.
'Course, being a 'virtual cockpit' you could nullify all my comments by simply claiming the virtual nature allows for some stretching/contorting of the body... >.>

Anytime.
I really had to make an effort to look for things that were off on this one Griatch, good work.
