Description Muse: Winter/Mourning, acrylic on canvas, 27.5 x 47 inches.

"Muse: Winter/Mourning" is the fourth in the series of muses, each with an emphasis on a particular season. With Winter comes the first appearance of the woman in the red dress. She stands with hands clenched in front of her amidst a garden of blue, purple, and deepest-red roses as a golden serpent entwines itself around her wrist. The veil covering her head and shoulders signifies that she is in mourning.

Thanks! It was a fun series to paint and started me in a different direction--lots of underlying patterns and floral arrangements.
