Finally done! Sad that I couldn't even reach the deadline a year later! This is my drawing for the 1 year anniversary of the end of Harry Potter. It's a Deathly Hallows Part 2 poster. I know it doesn't look much like a poster, I guess with the HP7 Part 2 logo it would (and I know the burning Hogwarts picture by itself was a poster) but a month or so before the premiere, there were tons of these pictures. Where it would show Hogwarts from Harry's first and last year together. To show how long it's been and how different everything is and to show that It all ends here It's also significant to me because it was one of my favorite posters for the movie! A month before the movie came out, I changed my desktop background to a new Harry Potter picture everyday and on July 14, 2011, I changed it to Hogwarts on fire for the last desktop background. That's why I did Hogwarts instead of that poster with Harry and Voldemort and the Elder Wand inbetween them and "IT ALL ENDS 7.15" But I guarantee that sometime in the future I will draw that and many other posters for Harry Potter!

It was really fun drawing this. Im gonna take a wild guess and say it took maybe a little over 24 hours to draw. At first, I really hated the background of the first Hogwarts, but then when I finished I didn't even pay attention to it. That's why they call it a background! Then with the second background, I was trying to get it perfect! I was looking off of the original picture and 2 others that are from fellow deviants here on dA fav.me/d4cwc34 fav.me/d3li87m While looking off of this one fav.me/d4cwc34 I realized the sky they drew isn't exactly the same as the picture. Until I actually realized that their's cut off earlier than the picture so when I knew what clouds I was looking at, their background looked EXACTLY like the real picture! How the hell do you copy a picture's clouds cattybonbon ?! So I was freaking out thinking it looked bad but now, with Hogwarts in the front, it looks fine b/c it's just a background! When I started the second Hogwarts I thought it looked like crap though! All I had done was the Great Hall (far left part) and as I kept drawing, I realized that if I were to make it look like a painting like those other two pictures, it wouldn't match the first Hogwarts. Do you guys notice that my drawing of Hogwarts don't look like paintings. They stand alone from the background and look almost 3D-ish. Like I made Hogwarts in a 3D software like Maya and leveled it out so it looked like this. It's sorta weird but I like how they both look like this! Also, both of the huts (not sure what to call them. It's the little cylinder hut like part of the castle to the far left next to the Great Hall) they sorta look paint-like. The both look sorta sloppy and look like they have brush stokes. It's funny how the hut on both of the pictures of Hogwarts look like that! And sorry about not drawing all of the second Hogwarts picture. About halfway though drawing it I realized I didn't have enough room for the rest of Hogwarts so it's cut off at one point. But I'll probably draw this again one day, the whole thing, and maybe more paint-like! So if you look at this picture w/o looking at the reference photo, it looks great! If you look at it with the reference photo, you can see a few flaws. But all in all, Im happy with this!

Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.
