Description Okay, this one happened entirely accidentally. My materials completely backfired on me.

The gold and silver areas are actually metallic/shiny gouache. I wanted them to show through small gaps in a mainly black background. ...But thick dry gouache seals off the paper, and when you put ink on top of it, it doesn't get absorbed as it should, just does its own thing like oil on water and has a very hard time drying. So I pushed around the black ink and got the random shapes, then poked at the gold gouache with a stick to get some texture, and then added the blue bits, which I regret doing but they're there now so yeah. Abstract art happens to all of us!

In spite of this being mostly tacky shiny paint in real life, I somehow don't completely hate it. Huh.

Well the title is the *only* thing that makes it not abstract, so..

I think this is a fantastic piece of "accidental" art! Each person who looks at it will see something different, I personally can see many different things going on, the more I look at it the more I see!
It would look great if it were enlarged, framed and hung on a wall....

Thank you! I'm glad others appreciate it too. What do you see?

I wonder if I can get a large print out of it. The original is tiny, about A5 or half letter size.

I see it as a sic-fi sort of image, the large shape on the right looks like a sort of ship, vehicle or a large land animal. The dark shapes resemble figures, we have a very stormy cloud scene going on, the ground looks like a desert or wheat field.
Could you rescan it at a higher resolution? There are ways of doing it in Photoshop but it is a bit complicated. I would try a rescan first....

Actually, the scan is twice this big, but I should be able to scan it at an even higher res. What are those ways to do it in Photoshop? Complicated is ok, I think I know the program well enough by now

It does look a lot like a blurry stargate. I didn't get all that gibberish about materials and paint you used, but I too like it.

A shadow person on fire dashing for a stargate that's collapsing on itself?
That's so profound!

(now that I typed that word, I started seeing all kinds of profane stuff there)

Oh, all those profane things are there alright. Notice how I talk about poking things with sticks and such?
