Fan-art of two most "intimate" inner senshis from classic Sailor moon anime, Tsukino Usagi (Sailor Moon) and Hino Rei (Sailor Mars). Sure, they always bickering or throwing insults at each other in the classic 90's anime but basically at the heart Usagi and Rei is the most closest friend among other Sailor Senshis.

Their interaction is always interesting to be watched in the classic anime, as every time Usagi and Rei quarreling each other it mostly end up more like a comedy sketch rather than a serious fight. at the contrary, it also heartwarming to see them comforting each other whenever one of them is depressed or in sorrow.

Sadly, we don't find this interesting relationship in the manga and the Crystal anime (which is a direct adaptation of the manga). In the manga Usagi just fascinated and look up to Rei because of her "Cool Beauty" appareance, while Rei think Usagi as a close friend and someone that she need to protect (Princess and her knight kind relationship) they never quarrel each other in the Manga & Crystal. (though sometimes Rei will throw snide remark about Usagi's grade, but just that.) Rei is a lot closer with Aino Minako (Sailor Venus) in the manga.

This fan-art is dedicated to Usagi & Rei from the classic anime, I never realized I will missed their dynamic in the 90's anime until I watch Crystal and feels that something is missing between their relationship... I guess it's true that they said you will never feel something is really important to you until it is missing from your life.
