Description House Sparrows are native Eurasian birds. They have taken over most of North America pushing out native birds. In Illinois where I'm from they are responsible for the almost complete disappearance of the Cliff Swallow. The House Sparrow will sing in groups and at feeders the female has dominant over the males. The House Sparrow can be found in many human populated areas.

Ha ha! Yeah! The best part is they were brought here to eat some kind of bug, but this bird eats Mostly seeds and plants and berries and grasses. Rearlly bugs.

I heard they were brought here to eat a certain type of bug, but they were so good at it that the bugs died out too much. The problem was the bugs were the main predator of an even nastier bug, so those started appearing in droves and the people who brought the sparrows over were even more pissed, even though it was their fault.
