Life and death can change in the blink of an eye. The warmth that you've given the image shows the love you have for your sister which transcends the visual and comes directly from your heart. Well done. Your vision is yours and sublime. Keep going on this series.

was there post softening?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Gonzale In reply to FigoTheCat [2008-12-30 05:38:02 +0000 UTC]

oh certainly not. look at the speed it was taken at. and the aperture. thats where the "soft" comes from.

not that the technical stuff is bad, just saw i'm only commenting on the settings .. composition is good, because cut-off lying head with bokeh behind is something not seen to often, so <3 nice one, something new to see.

kerian [2008-12-28 13:32:37 +0000 UTC]

btw apart of the technical stuff nice frame

kerian [2008-12-28 13:30:27 +0000 UTC]

i'm surprised about your shutter times and how sharp the images still turn out.

5d performs best (highest dynamic range) at 100 btw, 50 afaik doesn't change the real sensitivity, only the calculation. oh, and all non-full iso-stops are interpolated.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Gonzale In reply to kerian [2008-12-28 20:14:58 +0000 UTC]

yeah about the 50 i rarely use it, but when i quickly change the iso i just go really fast and go to the lowest possible and it turns out to be 50. it's not really a "decision" or an artistic choice or anything

but yeah thanks. i just happen to have more or less steady hands.

not bad for 1/4 sec exposure, not bad at all.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Gonzale In reply to MyPrivateParty [2008-12-27 16:27:17 +0000 UTC]

yeah i was juggling between flash and no-flash and forgot the change the iso here... apart from that we were both pretty steady.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MyPrivateParty In reply to Gonzale [2008-12-27 18:36:39 +0000 UTC]

Flash could have easily ruined it though. Would have been nice to stop down the aperture maybe 1 stop just to get a bit more sharp of an image, but then you would have definitely had to bump up the ISO. I think it turned out fine.
