Having just come back from Africa (which was awsome >8D) I think I can honestly say that I've never seen a bird quite as beautiful as the african hoopoe. Perhaps not the most colourfull, but it just had something about it that made it seem so wonderfull to watch. No picture is ever as good as the real thing, and my images don't even come close, but I hope it shows just enough of the bird's charm for you guys to see what I mean ^^Related content

this is great ^^ i love the varying textures on the feathers, it certainly looks beautiful
I love the sky you did - with it taking up most of the bg it really makes the hoopoe stand out ^^ we saw the eurasian variety in Lanzarote - sadly not very close up, but flying low through the mountains; did you get to see it up close?
