Description Another in my "photorealistic pokemon" series. Again, 'tis a scrap, as I haven't yet colored and shaded and whatnot...lord knows when I will...but I think this one came out well. Perhaps even better than Slowbro. Enjoy!

Aipom, PokΓ©mon, and whatnot are all property of Nintendo and Game Freak.

Well...when you really think about it, aipom actually does kind of look like a purple gremlin, what with the giant head, massive eyes and ears, and the perpetual rictus grin...

But yeah, thank you so much!

Yeek, this one's freaky. But that's a good thing, because aipom's pretty nightmarish on its own... Especially before its promotion in the anime when it was thought of only being able to grin eerily...

But I wonder what the hand is derived from?

The hand? Well...it sort of just a twist on the obvious adaptation of the "prehensile tail"...it just proved better grip for climbing, swinging, and carrying.

Yeah, but since when do tails go forked/grow fingers? Isn't the tail just an extention of the spinal cord or something? So, how would it have fingers there?

I guess since when is any pokemon anything like in real life, I just noticed there's less of an explaination here. Aipom was made fairly early, so less notes are given.

Just because it hasn't happened on Earth doesn't mean it couldn't. My goal isn't really to explain why it is like it is, just how it could work as it's presented.

Like I said, Aipom will eventually receive a makeover, and when it does, I'll make more notes.

This one's okay, but since it's your second one, it's okay. Then again, there's not really much to say about Aipom anyways.

Wow...I just noticed that I drew the hand on his tail way too small...

Yeah, I think he came out better than slowbro, but to be honest, both of them were early on, so I was still working on "the forumla", if you will...that being said, he does look creepy, but Aipom really kind of does...

...yes... maybe you should have drawn him a bit more like a lemur, perhaps...? Aipom's big ears and eyes might have gone well that way... Just a suggestion.

I actually modeled him after a bushbaby...with some lemur-esque details. I really like the way he came out, personally. I just need to redraw his tail-hand.
