Description Red and Yellow Variagated Tulips, taken at Lacock Abbey Botanical Gardens in Wiltshire, UK.
This is the home of Fox Talbert, whom invented the canotype process. Well worth a google.

This image was taken hand held using a Canon 100mm macro wide open

Well worth a full sized view

Canon 5D, Canon ef 100mm USM macro
Iso 100, 1/250sec f/2.8

That is a really cool flower.

And it intrigues that I found this by searching my last name.

Very nice. Mind you, they're the strangest looking tulips I've ever seen. I suppose that's because tulips aren't common in my neck of the woods, so I only see the ordinary ones.

Yup, this is what they look like after they've opened up to the sun, they go all star shaped. Most people think of the classic amsterdam tulip look of the single tight bulb on the end of a stalk. But when they want to be pollenated, they open right up. Unfortunatly this doesn't happen in a vase, they die before this happens.
