My first dragon on photoshop CS3! I was meaning to really get into photoshop, so I finally had a sit down and actually got doing something! I was watching a lot of speed painting vids on youtube, especially Chris Scalf's dragon ones. Im not sure exactly how long it took, but probably about 2 hours. Im not overly happy with it, but I am glad that its there at that stage. One thing is that I know I need a bigger page to draw it on, but I didnt know what size to set it to, so that will be something I will work on.Im going to keep practicing, Ive been told that its good for my first attempt of photoshop, but I really want to improve.
If anyone has any advice or tips they would like to give, I would be more than happy to hear them!

I think it's not bad for a first try. You seemed to be a bit undecisive as to how to draw the scales, though lol
The position of the horns look a bit unnatural, it's like they could break off his head at any time (kinda looks instable, you know)
The jaw also doesn't look correct :/ if I imagined that dragon's skull right now, it's hard to find out where that jaw bone is supposed to be...
as I said, it's not bad for a first try... just keep on practicing and you'll get better.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, the horns were the difficult part. I have done another dragon, I think I did a lot better with the newer one, so check that one out if you want

really cool! I used to have the cruddy old version of photoshop. dont have it anymore because the cd was scratched too badly. I coulnt really use it anyway though.

This looks just amazing, the shading and all those details on the teeth and the "skin" are perfect for your first attempt, you have to be very proud!
