I like the IDEA of Severus and Lily since they were best friends and practically inseparable as kids until that HUGE mistake. But yeah James and Lily makes more sense.

Okay not to start an argument or anything. I understand why Lily didn't pick Severus, especially after he called her a mudblood. But I wouldn't see Lily picking James either. He was such a jerk, who picked on people for no good reason. It was never explained in the books how they eventually got together. I mean in Severus' memories it seemed like Lily didn't like James either.

It because of how the movie potrayed him. I have so many friends who ask me how could Lily ever end up with James if Severus was such a sweeeetie.
