Definetly! My latest favourite is inside the hippo mouth, but rhino heads is also very nice. I should try and draw it soon!

As much as I enjoy drawing pretty girls, I love doing texture, whether it's trees or rocks or rough ol' rhino skin, lol. Thanks so much for the fave!

That's fantastic attention to detail! What did you use to do the crosshatch on the bottom right of the picture? I never managed to make such accurate and slightly curving strokes. Looks like something you'd see on a woodcut

Thanks, Gilran. For the series of sketches I've been doing this year, I've put away the brush (temporarily) and have gone to a variety of disposable tech pens called Uni Pin Fine Line (made by Mitsubishi Pencil Co). They range in nib size from 0.1 to 0.8 and have a wonderful, thick black application. They are water and fade proof, also. For the sketches in January, I tried a few different manufacturers, but finally settled on the Uni Pin around February because of their affordability, application, and longevity.

Specifically, for the cross-hatch, I probably used the 0.1 and 0.2.

Thanks! I will definitely try those and decide if it's worth to spend some money on the disposable pens! Before switching to nib pens almost exclusively, I've used Pigma Micron pens. They are convenient, but I found that they don't last very long and after a bit their line quality really suffers.

Rhinos are fun! Um...and big. And they probably have a bit of that "big animal funk" going on. Or see well. BUT...give one a few margaritas, and I hear they are the life of the party!

Thanks! I really enjoy looking at those old engravings (both wood and steel) from years ago! I guess you could say that was once one of my prime areas of influence.
