Rooting for Darkseid. Movie Thanos is cool, but Comics Thanos always had some dumb motivations IMO, though his Deadpool team-up was cool.

Comics Thanos is far more complex and much better written than his watered down MCU counterpart. Comics Thanos is one of the most intelligent characters in the history of fiction (at least when it comes to strategy, manipulation and scientific knowledge), meanwhile MCU Thanos is so stupid that he can't see his "solution" to overpopulation is utterly illogical and completely inefficient. Furthermore, he was dumb enough to entrust the likes of Loki and Ronan with finding the Infinity Stones, got predictably betrayed by Ronan and not only did he not get the Stones he wanted, but he also lost the one Stone he already had. The only thing that redeems MCU Thanos is that Josh Brolin's acting is freaking phenomenal which is why I'm sorry he didn't get the chance to portray a well-written Thanos that's actually faithful to the source material.

Just as note, that i like Thanos more than Darkseid also due to his memetic nature. Darkseid has not notable memes, but Thanos is real fountain of them!

Critics and MCU fans who don't know or give a damn about the source material. Most, if not all, Thanos fans who have actually read Starlin's books with Thanos, instead of just done a generic Google search, realize how lousily written MCU Thanos is. Moreover, it's a fact that his plans and methods are inefficient and completely illogical, and that's precisely what makes him a total moron. Plenty of people have brought those problems up and no amount of empty, thoughtless praise is gonna change that. Also, the unnecessary decision of the filmmakers to make Thanos responsible for the genocide of the Zen-Whoberis (Gamora's species) was an utterly stupid and pointless move which robs Thanos's relationship with Gamora from a ton of its complexity and depth. Again, the only saving grace MCU Thanos has is Josh Brolin's incredible performance and it's a shame his phenomenal acting was wasted in such a pathetic way.

All I really know about Thanos is from Infinity War, I'm a bit more familiar with Darkseid.Β But given the information I have I think if I was at that battle I would want to back up Thanos any way I could, he seems like the lesser of two evils.

Yep, I don't. Because it is only mentioned and never shown. I can see Darkseid's Omega beams, his scheming, sarcastic remarks, but Thanos... I don't even know if he has any extra abilities. I know that he had somehow cursed Deadpool so he must have a very high magic power level, but all I see is pure strength used by him. Far higher one then that of Darkseid, but it's just strength, no secondary abilities like aforementioned Omega beams or use of gadgets.

Oh, boy. This is a tough one. Both of them have wreaked havoc across the multiverse, faced the heaviest hitters of their universe, schemed and manipulated their way to omnipotence and are End-all villains. One universe alone will not stand the awesomeness of this fight. And the ultimate question still remains, Who would win?

It's tough to say. But I would assume Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet against Darkseid with The Anti-Life Equation would match and cancel each other out. So we're going with their normal selves but It would be an awesome fight.

Their strength, speed and stamina seem to be about even. Their telepathic abilities will cancel each other out.
Darkseid has better energy projection, courtesy of the uber-hax Omega Force. Thanos is better at melee combat, seeing as he defeated the Champion of the Universe, who is the best martial artist in the universe and has the energies of the Big Bang in his being.
Darkseid is too dependent on knowing his enemy and even then he loses. Thanos has a subconscious desire to lose so that he can finally join Death.
I can't pick a decisive winner. And I don't think Screwattack will do this fight any time soon, since they're getting complaints about having too many Marvel characters in their fights. And that they're Marvel fanboys. Which they are not.

Tough to say about Darkseid and Thanos. Like you said about Darkseid trying to know his enemy and Thanos wanting to die, that possibly lead a draw or seomething.

The only thing that makes me think that Thanos wins is combat experience. Unlike Darkseid, he does most of his work himself. And he seems to be of a higher intelligence, developing his own tech and all.

True. But darksied has proven To handle opponents with superior experience and his omega beams may not kill thanos but may cause extreme pain to him and hard to dodge.
