Description
torso made from basalt lava.I was trying to create a dialogue between the geometric outer shape of the stone with the soft, roundish shapes of a female torso.
for the torsi I love the basalt lava, as it results in a silky soft surface.

thanks, Boltino: no mold actually, all chiseled out of the solid block of stone. I am always working subtractive.

Thanks, Boltino! It is actually nice to work: it is rather hard, but it breaks very even and can be worked by hand or maschine. both works well. Even with all its holes it is frost-resistant, an important feature, if you want to place it outside. I like it a lot.
