Another older concept sketch, this time of Herakles. I was playing around with the idea of a more "tribal" look, with the Nemian Lion skin looking a huge barbarian cape.Related content

Good take on Herc- like the more sabre-tooth Lion skin, gives a more primitive feel!

Thanks! Yeah, I was trying to make the Nemean Lion look like a descendent of an Ice Age Sabertooth. I get a kick out of mixing science/history with mythology.

Haha, I thought you might! I actually have quite a few Herakles drawings and misc. Greek mythology things laying around, but I didn't post them because at the time, I trying to work them into an original story. Now the story has...moved to a different place, I guess, so I'm posting the older sketches

Hahaha, I don't think I even have a "Hercules" in my gallery. It's always "Herakles". Maybe at some point, I'll draw a Hercules that looks distinctly Roman.
