this reminds me of an old ship scene where they have the thick rope tied on deck, the guitar strings remind me of that nautical rope.

Oh, it's a great shot.. I just got it beaten into me in competition that darks have to be dark, while still having texture.... and the lights have to be light with detail. Did you use levels or curves or brightness/contrast? If you used b/c, I recommend levels. I know the real pros prefer curves, but I do best with levels.

I think I might have another crack at it with levels and/or curves ... I used 'b&c', also 'adjustments > selective colour' first time round.
