I really shouldn't be uploading twice in a row, but I'll be gone for the next couple of days so I decided 'why the heck not.'Entry 001: LIDGET~! of my Fake Pokemon Pokedex.
.. PS: It's fake.
And completely (C) Emily R.C. [that's me, Galbinus.]
.. Except for the Pokemon, which is (C) Nintendo/Creatures Inc. /Gamefreak Inc/Satoshi Tajiri.
If anyone has a good, transparent-background Pokemon logo or font, I'm all ears.. It's sort of hard to tell that this is supposed to be a Fakemon just from the preview. I'll definitely be messing around with the design before I settle on anything.. I sort of actually like the coloring I did with Lidget, but I know its design may not be all that original... -slaps self-
..Feel free to draw a picture of Lidget and upload it here while giving me credit. I don't know why you'd want to, though. -shrugs-

It's absolutely adorable (is currently trying to make one with palmpuffs). I love the conscept behind it more than anything, it's got a fun new look to it and the "pokemon art style" just adds to it. Great job

Really neat looking fake pokemon. It would fit in with the rest of the critters from that show very well. stylistically, I might make the legs just a tiny bit longer and maybe add a hint of some sort of feet to make it look like it could move relatively quickly (unless its a slow moving one)

If there's anything I could critique on, it might be the angle of his leaf "crown", maybe needs to be a bit more tilted inwards to the left.
And about the logo, do you want it like pixelated(from the game) or from the show? I think I can help you out there.

This is charming in a weird way, but it's clearly not a pokemon. There's no hint of Sugimori's style, nor is there any animal, plant, object, or general concept off of which it is based, which is what makes pokemon so cool.
Also, a general note about starter pokemon. The
Sugimori starters are always based off an animal (usually grass starters are saurian, though some people have made mammalian grass starters). After all, it's much easier to relate to an animal with plant-like features than it is to relate to a plant with eyeballs attached to it.
Technique wise, however, you've got no problems. The coloration and shading is superb, and your linework is excellent. Overall, I'd say that where you need improvement is the concepts behind your work. Good job!

Thank you for your candid words! I will definitely be making modifications to the design of the next evolution of this Pokemon. I guess it was supposed to be based off a guinea pig/hamster-type thing, but I don't think that was quite prominent in this design.
