Description
So, um, this took me forever and a day to do, it started out as a three hour long sketch in both math classes and into Government class and then it became an afterschool time consuming project. I tried to not rely on lineart and I put in an okay background (with little people too!)Lina Inverse, of Slayers, having a nice lunch (by her standards) with Gourry and Amelia whilst Zelgadis looks on.
I think I really like how Valgaav turned out...

Another delightful detail is the love bash heart on the two by four Lina is using to club Gourry, as wellas the fact that Naga, Valgaav, and Gaav are all in the bg.

The background was so much fun for me. I started with the main human characters and then realized that the picture needed an awful lot more, so I added Xelloss and Filia for fun and then the rest of the background (I thought about trying to fit more characters in, but that would've been hard).
I'm happy that you noticed the chairs, Gourry's chair should've had a heart on it as well, but then it looked too weird to have the hair behind the chair...

Zel was fun to do, unfortunately I had his hair over the wrong eye for most of the drawing process! But I caught that mistake and you can hardly tell, can you?

This is really really good! What did you use to color this? The colors are amazing!!!
And I love that Valgaav is in there, most pics don't seem to include him.
Of course I have no room to talk, but then I have too much trouble trying to draw him.

Thank you very much. I colored this with Adobe Photoshop Elements. I started with a sketch on lined paper, which I scanned and then I used my tablet and a large number of layers and I colored until I could delete the sketch and add a background. The colors are bright because I like high levels of saturation.
Valgaav was added entirely on whim, I needed something to fill in the background and I had been using green right beforehand. He's actually rather simple in the detail, but I'm kinda proud that he turned out well.

Not only is this amazing, but I LOVE the detail of Xelloss and Filia in the sky. His kind of "Mah mah Filia-san" placating gestures coupled with her red "evil eye" look cracked me up! Plus, color me impressed with the textures on all of their hair! Great job!

All of the hair took me forever, especially Gourry's hair. I tried a lot of different techniques and I had a lot of fun, but it did take a lot of time out of everything else.

This is an amusing portrait. I like the colors, as they're vibrant and lively.
At first, I had thought that Lina took the table and flung Xelloss and Filia into the sky. It made me laugh. Then I looked at the full-size version and I saw that it looks like Lina's going to smash a plate of spaghetti instead.
It's all still amusing. You caught Lina's dynamism nicely, and you did a good job on the background characters too.

Thank you, the idea is the result of having two fairly easy math classes in a row as the final year of highschool drew to a close. I wanted to draw something with a lot of action, and mealtimes with Lina seem to be fairly wild. The background characters were added because it was too empty without them.

The hair, particularly Gourry's, was a task in and of itself and ended up being an opportunity to experiment in various tecniques. But the picture, oh dear Gaav, it took forever. And then I decided to do a background and then I added little people into the background. Of the people in the background, Naga's outfit was the biggest pain to do because it's so strappy and small. But it was fun.

The problem with Lina was that I worked really hard on the details like the demon blood talismans but then they're hard to see in the image. That's the problem with being able to zoom in hundreds of times...
