This picture was made to publicity market, saying better, comerce image to Phosphorus Fiat Lux Co. a company of phosphorus under Gessy Lever control in Brazil. But it isn't real. This picture was a college job. An academyc work when I was in university.
"Fiat Lux" meaning "Make the light!"
I get this way to make my picture. I think: If the humankind had very happiness and full sucsses from fire discovery in the stone age, with phosphorus Fiat Lux all men going to more and more happiness and will be much more success!
Thats the idea.
Then I made this Homo Erectus, it isn't a ape, or a mono, or a monkey, it is a homo erectus, our ancestral.
To make the coat seem so shaggy, I made hair by hair, wire by wire with my pen graphic Wacom Tablet with more then 3800 levels of sensibility, then, my first step was make darkness hair or wires, and was going from the most darkness to most clean hair, layer by layer, to create the volume. That was the way followed by me, in the hand and in the head of this homo erectus.
Talking about this, all elements in this picture was made in so many layers, also, eyes, lips, nose, theets, hair, hands, phosphorus, fire, the light and evrefing was made in apart layers.
Here, in Rio de Janeiro, I was do many lessons about digital painting in full classroons on Estácio de Sá University and Faculdade da Cidade University and my most exercise lesson to my students is how to do drawing this laughing picture.

A proposta era fazer uma imagem publicitária para os fósforos Fiat Lux.
Aproveitei o significado do nome da empresa "Faça-se a Luz" e imaginei: "a descoberta do fogo deve ter feito o homem muito feliz, imagine se ele tivesse descoberto com fósforos Fiat Lux?"
Então fiz esse homo erectus meio chimpa, mas muito sorridente.
