Description
The title of this drawing is "Clanless" because I think that sums up Tenten very well, she is one of the few characters in Naruto without a clan, and puts her in a very unique position of having absolutely no distinguishing characteristics at all besides being a walking arsenal of weaponry at all times. I wanted to give her a costume that deviated from the standard Chinese-style garment... not sure if the netting suit her, but hopefully it at least adds some variety to the Tenten fanart on dA.I can't draw scrolls to save my life.
Background is an edited photo of the Jiaminhu lake in the mountains of Taiwan, taken sometime 2 years ago while we were mountain climbing...

One of the things that impresses me about popular series like Naruto is that the character designs are very distinctive, and you can recognize character's outfits and colors very easily. Unfortunately, the flip side is that you see characters wearing the exact same clothes throughout the series, and it's fun to see what these guys might look like otherwise.

As far as I know, when Naruto was exported to the States, they kept all of the Japanese names, so she's just Ten Ten/Tenten even in English. It means "sky" for what it's worth.
That said, there's no family name - you can see the difference between "Tenten" and "Uchiha Sasuke" or "Nara Shikamaru".

I think the netting is great for her it adds mystery due to the weapons she may carry. I love the whole outfit. The coloring and shading is great!

Thanks! I always thought the official outfits for the characters were somewhat dull. It's understandable since they have to show up so much and it's tiring to draw intricate outfits so often, but still... that's the joy of fanart, haha.

To be honest, the background was a photograph that I took and slapped on using a Photoshop filter~
Tenten doesn't get much attention in the manga, but I've noticed that she certainly gets a LOT of attention on dA to make up for it!

I know alot of people draw him and stuff but I he's inspirational and I would love some one to do a realistic and time taken pic of the weirdo LOL ^^ I would do it but every time I try I can't make his hair or eyes right cuz they are so diffrent from what I like to do LOL Oo ANYWAY! Yeah, there really isn't much realistic Lee art either... his eyes and bowl cut make it somewhat hard. The best I've seen was a sketch by iDNAR in his scraps, if there ever was a real Rock Lee that's definitely what he'd look like.
