Description It's the coloured version of: [link]

It's Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist, in his early twenties.

Check it out, he's not floating in midair like in the Lineart! He has a shadow now!

Very nice. May I use this for a Roleplay I'm setting up?

This is amazing! I love the fact that you put him in something besides his trademark clothes or Shamballa gettup.

Can I use this for a cover pic on a fanfiction story?

I have trouble understanding why everyone keeps saying Ed's tall when there's no point of reference to really tell that for sure >_> Am I just weird?

Anyway, I have to keep looking back at it and staring really hard, because he does look older, but I can't figure out what it is that makes him look older, since he pretty much looks the same as he does now. It's something about his left hand, I think, and what little of his torso we can see. Somehow, they make me think of strong adult men like Mustang or something, and that makes me think that Ed's older.

It would be easy to fall in love with this guy, though.

Maybe because his head fits into the length of his body more times than it currently does? Not that I went and measured it out or anything.

Maybe it's because his eyes are higher in his head, and his profile looks grown-up? Hehehe, glad he reminds you of strong adult men like Mustang! That was kind of the idea when I drew this.

And yes, it would be so, so easy to fall in love with this guy.

Truth be told, I've never actually thought that Ed looks hot in the original story. Cool, yes. Good for a main character, yes. But I don't drool over him like some girls do - I save that for Mustang (There's this one panel in the manga where he's in the bathroom washing his face, and he looks all sharp and hot and everything....) But this picture here actually does make Ed look hot.

I have a friend that kinda drools over Ed though, that's what initially inspired me to draw a more grown-up version of him. I'm with you on saving the drooling for Mustang. Can you remember what chapter that was? Cause I can't remember it! D: *panics*

Hmm, good question *does ten minutes of flipping through chapters, muttering under breath*

Chapter 34, page 29!!!! That is the glorious panel! Kyaa, I love his knuckles!! I think half the reason he's hot is because of his knuckles. But I'm just weird like that.

Not bad, I can see Edward looking like this in a few years. By the way, if Ed were real, he'd love to see how tall he is in this.

My mother only stopped growing when she was 24. You might still have a few centimeters in you.

Thanks for the optimism. We shall see! Somehow I don't see it happening though, thanks to my poor knee condition.

Fudfoodle In reply to hand-made-city [2009-11-25 06:46:55 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome. What knee condition? I myself have a bad knee, but that's due to years of hockey and acting like a dare devil when I was a teenager. My left knee's cartilage was shredded (worse than my 50 year old father's ), had surgery to repair as much of the damage as possible. I wouldn't even have gone to the doctor if my knee didn't lock up one night, I was still walking and running at the time.

hand-made-city In reply to Fudfoodle [2009-11-25 09:47:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, my condition is similar. Worn down cartilage.. also iliotibial band syndrome, which just makes things worse. I went to physical therapy this summer, but now that I'm in Scotland I haven't been able to go. How did the surgery go for you? My doctor said that if I can't relieve the pain through therapy, surgery would be another option for me..

Fudfoodle In reply to hand-made-city [2009-11-25 11:58:20 +0000 UTC]

My surgery was to remove the loose cartilage floating around in my knee, and to smooth the torn bits. My knee was fine for four years after it, but now I've started getting pains again. The doctor told me that the next step would be to harvest cartilage from my hip and replace it in my knee. That operation would have me off my leg for three months. :/ But I'm going to do some therapy first to see if that relieves the pain. My knee hasn't locked up again, so I think the situation is still salvageable through therapy. But I'm no doctor, we'll see...

I see... thanks for telling me about it. I don't think surgery is right for me at the moment, but it's always good to know of all options!
