That's has got to be the most awesome thing I've heard all day (and I've heard a couple awesome things, let me tell you).
This has been my VtM OTP since.... oh God, when did the game come out...... oh yeah, 2004!
And I have reasons and rationalizations, and it even makes sense IMO. The fact that they look hella adorbs/sexy together doesn't hurt, though.

I only just played the game for the first time about two weeks ago, so I don't know much about the books from your other comments.
it's weird to say but they became my OTP as he was treating the character like ... a person. He jokes with the character and warns them about the Sarcophagus, nobody else in the game show signs that he warned them about the Sarcophagus.

I'm only too happy to ship these two like crazy (HA, but seriously no pun intended). You know, I've played through the game many times as practically every clan and for every character I get a different sense of who they are, even though the dialogue options are almost the same every time (with a few clan-specific dialogue exceptions). In my experience, the Malkavian, she adores Beckett. Who he is, everything he stands for. Maybe a bit of a Gangrel fetishist ;D. Such intense admiration; the woman potentially has a TV show devoted to him in her head, for goodness sake. XD

And I'm in complete agreement about Beckett. It was refreshing to find someone who wasn't out just to push you around or exploit your talents then discard you. He treated you decently, friendly even. He's one of the few people you could actually trust.
Then there's that last time you see him. "I thought you deserved a chance. There's a good possibility we may not meet again. Goodbye, young one." AHHH, it gets me every time!!! It's weird, he really does seem to care about this neonate vampire he met not but maybe a week ago, give or take a few nights. Enough to go out of his way to warn them not to open the Sarcophagus, at least.

I'm glad to meet someone else that appreciates this pairing. Your OTP is my OTP, and that's pretty cool. I will most definitely be doing more art of it sometime soon. Perhaps even with better anatomy this time around. Hopefully. O_o

Yeah, he really annoyed me there. He didn't seem to treat Beckett very nicely, even though Beckett is his elder.
(Honestly I never liked him throughout the who thing and ended up as independent. I really hated everyone using me and ordering me around. I liked Beckett because not only is he awesome, but HE DIDN'T order me around and use me.)

Right! You're so right. I hate hate hate hate HATE the Prince, especially as a Malkavian. Do you know why? Because when you play Malkavian it's like a goddamn WITCH HUNT. Like he's so eager to get rid of all Malkavians around him, your sire (who was probably on to his scheming himself/herself), Alistair Grout, then of course you. Not to mention condescending! Which he is to everyone, but remember when you reach him coming from Santa Monica for the first time and you're telling him about all you've seen, and he's all "Yesss, I'm sure it was all... quite an experience." Like he's talking to a child going on about adventures with their imaginary friends. Ugh!
Still, I like how Beckett's all cool about his outbursts and lack of respect, even intentionally avoiding the topic of opening the box just to tick him off further ("I haven't as of yet had a chance to go over it with a fine tooth comb... I think I have one here in my bag...... "). He's awesome but he can be such a smartass. XD

And I agree, I know it's Jyhad and all, but everyone is dumping all these ridiculous tasks on just a sireless neonate vampire. Realistically speaking, how can you expect someone like that to take on these jobs and walk away from them alive (so to speak)? LaCroix's quests aside, there's the plague bearers, the gargoyle, Kings Way, etc. Jeezis! You must have some ungodly strong blood bubbling in your veins or something to make it out from it all in one piece. XD
But yes, I also usually end up independent when playing Malkavian. Like the ol' Lone Wolf says, for all it's hardships, it's really the only way to go. ;D

Totally agree. Beckett's even OK with you insulting him if you pick to say the line that asks him if he's ever been exploded. He does seem to be fine, even a little amused by most things you can say to him. I think it's cause he traveled with Anatole for a long time though. (Don't even get me started on Anatole, love that guy so so much!!!)
It's to bad he has to deal with so much shit from other vampires though. Beckett's way cool!
The Prince just is a prissy ass vampire(*insert angry growling*)...I was so happy when I stabbed him and left him there.
I loved playing a Malkavian though. The fact that everyone thought I was stupid annoyed me. But I loved having "Insight" into things. It made it so amusing to scare some of the other vamps with it. Like with Skelter. Lol, He hates Malkavians and their insight!

YESSSSS! Let's just talk about Anatole for a second, because.... he just... wow, that man just owns me, okay? He's glorious.
Which is one point I like to make for this particular pairing of mine. It's my understanding the general idea the Gangrel have of Malkavians is, eh... wary, at best. Beckett, however, freely associates with them like no big deal, the closest and most famous being Anatole who is, hello, Malkavian! For however long their little crew ran together, I'm sure he grew plenty accustomed to the fits, the visions, the voices, and any other malady the madness may have manifested itself, so whatever crazy this little lady dishes out I know he can handle and even respect.

But GOD yes, LaCroix got exactly what he had coming to him. He deserved that massive hole to the chest! He's so despicable, the way he screws everyone over just for the sake of growing his own power and lies to their faces about it even when he's been caught OVER and OVER again (you get several times to call him out on this, but naturally he blows you off and there's not a thing you can do about it). I wish you didn't have to work for him for the entire duration of the game, but you don't exactly have much choice until the very end. DX

Malkavian is my go-to clan, every time I play. I took the quiz once and was hooked. Whenever I install it, if I play any other clans, it's after I've played Malkavian. I just have such a soft spot for them. You might say Malkav's blood, it calls to me, as it calls to us both, cousin. Once you've gone psyched, everything else can take a hike.

Anatole is awesome. Recently got Dark Ages Malkavian, Clan Novel Malkavian, and Gehenna: The final night, because he was in them. *shrug* I have a bad habit of obsessing over things...sue me.(Don't hesitate to tell me if he's in anymore! Llol)
I love Malks. I feel pity for some, but then others truly seem to enjoy their madness. Having a "I'm not suffering from madness, I'm enjoying every minute of it." attitude.
I actually played as a gangrel first. Later I looked more into malkavians. Haven't gone back. Won't try playing another clan, refuse to.
(I WON'T DO IT, YOU CAN'T MAKE ME, NOBODY CAN...I HAVE A FORK!!!!!)
Will be playing a Malk when the WoD MMO comes out. (Can't wait for that! )

I think that deep down, everyone/anyone could be malkavian...really if you looked hard enough,almost everyone has a problem of some kind. OCD,Borderline personality disorder, any minor phobia...anything, it's all just amplified.

The only pieces I've read of him are from the beginning of the Clanbook, the wiki, and any other blur I come across about him online. No substitution for the novels, I know. But goddammit, WHY MUST THEY BE OUT OF PRINT?!
I find him most interesting. I want to know all I can. Like you, when I get myself into something I obsess HARD. And this fascination has lasted as long as I've been aware of him.

Ahhhhhh, the MMORPG........ there's something to look forward to.
I was actually discussing this with my sister a few days ago. There's so much to hope for. Can you imagine if Anatole is an NPC, or better still, a quest character?? Questing with Anatole... ER. MAH. GERD.
And there's so many questions, like will it all be set in a particular time, or will there be something like individual "realms" for certain points throughout history. And is it possible to violate the Masquerade (assuming you belong to a sect that honors it), and if so what is the punishment? Execution seems unlikely, as if this is like any MMO where if you die you just re-spawn somewhere. Will the sun be an issue, and if so, how will that play out? SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO KNOW!!!
Really, it can't come out soon enough. XD

Well....if your not too against it...I could show you have you how to get Pdf (Free) of the ones I have. I've read a few of them this way. (DA: Lasambra,Ravnos,Malkavian and Brujha, as well as Gehenna and the revised Malk Clan Novel.) We should switch to private notes though, lol.

Anatole as an NPC would be AWESOME, and questing, Oh Gods.... I would literally do a fangirl dance of happi!!!!
About the Masquerade...I think you can,...and the "Prince" (And elected player character) CAN call a blood hunt and you CAN die permanently. You would have to start a new character. Not sure about the whole daylight thing...I really think that there should be at least sometimes when there is daylight. Not having day in vampire games kinda kills the "Vampire" feel. If it's always dark you never have to fear the light. You know? Maybe just have it so that you get a five minute warning that the sun is coming up (if you currently online) to get to your haven or into the sewers or other underground clubs or something. Even if it was only an hour of the game-play per day. (Just another reason you don't log off with your character hanging outside in the middle of the street, right? in case you logg inn when the suns up...hehe

Another thing I was thinking about the game was how Malk speech with be. (I wrote the next part on WODNew.net so it's quoted from that: (I really don't feel like rewriting the same thing over again. Ha.)

" I really hope that when you type in a message in the world the system screws with and makes it sound crazy....Maybe it could work on a thesaurus type thing. Where you type in one word and it will pick another (Meaning the same thing.) but that would make it sound weird or completely convoluted. (You would need a dictionary to understand them. Lol! Ah! Wunderbar. I wouldn't want to piss that player off, then. As long as they themselves are kept in check, I'm good (suppose that's what primogen and justicars are for). The more it feels like LARPing, the better (now in stunning CGI, oh goodie!). It seems like they want to stick to the feel of the original games. I would hope they'd stay true to critical elements such as preserving Masquerade, and dishing out the consequences for its violations (like blood hunts), and it's encouraging to know they are. But yeah, as to how they would pull the whole daylight/nighttime hours off, that's a really good you have idea for it. It would suck so bad to leave your character outside (accidentally or through ignorance) and then be raring to hop back on and play, then find WHOOPS, you're fried, baby, go start a new character. But it would be authentic. You don't leave yourself standing outside in the middle of a street at the end of the evening in a LARP session (I mean, unless you just want to die and, hey, some do). You take shelter while you sleep the day away! It's the most basic part of being a vampire, right there with the drinking of blood.
Go tell them! Maybe they'll listen to you.

I suppose I've read enough Homestuck to easily decipher typing quirks. Can you imagine? Malkavians would be the 1337357 m07h3rfuck3r5 on that playground, yo! The first example would be harder for other clans to duplicate (if they were inclined to make such a mockery; laughable, but understandable), so if they were to institute character substitutions in typing, I'd go with something like that. Again, good idea. It's not easy for every sane person playing a Malkavian to sound insane all the time, and such a filter would help give off the impression, even if they're out of character.

I'm pretty sure most of the positions in "Vampire Government" are gonna be players.(Maybe not a first, like people might have to "overtake" the NPC characters at first.) The Price will be able to call blood hunts as well. That's gonna be kinda scary actually. Just hope it's not a complete douche.

It's riskier to attack at random.) Then as I play learn Auspex's and Obfuscate. (And get those on the highest level I can.) And play like that, seeing as Ill probably play as "myself" the first character at least. Setting up Demeanor and Nature will be fun. There was some talking on WoDNews.net about those. Oh I can't wait to see what they do.

Like I said, there has to be someone to keep the resident Prince in check. I mean, I think everyone's got an evil internet troll living in themselves somewhere, which in the form of the ultimate power player in a MMORPG where just a simple command could mean the permanent, final death of someone's hard earned character, could potentially spell D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R (also stare, tress, sate, resist, dirt, desist, ass, uh... tassdier... tas, tasty? TASTIER!) for the whole project if no one watches them. It is a pretty scary thought, when you think about it. >w>;

I just have a hard time imagining everyone running around diablarizing each other for the sake of "leveling up". Diablarie is supposed to be this HUUUGE taboo among Kindred. My impression was that shit on first offense warrants execution if you're found out, so the thought of this being the only way of building your abilities to their full potential is just like... wait, WHAT?! Like, I know power is FUN, but let's be real for just a second...

Hopefully at least they'll give you some options about what generation you can be... but would that mean EVERYONE would choose to be as old as possible? See, it raises so many questions, I don't know what to think of it. I'm just trying to see how this translates into a competitive PvP gaming environment. But I trust they know what they're doing. :/

Nothing interesting ever happens during the day anyway, am I right? There's no household chore I can't do in the wee hours that I can during daylight, and, um... night happens to be when I feel most awake. Must be a... young lady thing.
Problematic, though, in that I've been searching feverishly for work around here. And If I'm sleeping up until 4 in the afternoon, well, there's only so many business hours left in the day. So I've been trying slowly to shift the ol' internal alarm clock to wake me up at more decent hours. But it's hard, it really is. I find that being awake in the morning I feel more depressed than usual. Fuck if I know why, but I really do hate... things... sometimes. (This is part of the reason why I've been skipping out on DA for some time now, FYI. It's nothing personal, I really do like you!)

Well, some might not realize the importance of Generation at the time...(not all the people gonna be playing pay attention to that unfortunately, or another thing, with the way some people play they/ or their character might need Allies,Contacts, Fame or Notoriety, Influence, Mentor,Resources and Status. To have a low gen. would mean putting most or all of the points into it and ignoring all of these. Not all would do this.
Anything else that is in "Backgrounds" You only get so many points to place.

Well, I think that Diablerie will not be all that rampant, it's only useful if you know another vampire have a lower gen than you do. Attacking people with a higher gen is just silly if your doing it for power...if your doing it to be an @ss you deserve what you get. (Generation shouldn't be shown to all, otherwise you might just have a target on your...neck...Ha ha hahahahha!!!!

Also looking for a job, it's difficult everywhere I'm afraid.

Quite possibly. The last time you see Beckett in the game he says you may never meet again, and as far as the game goes, you don't.
Although, depending on your choices, you may live to survive. I like to think she does see him again sometime after it all...

I understand about the pairings. I definitely have OTPs of my own that I will defend.

Having not read the Masquerade books, I don't know all of the canon. But I wanted to make sure that he hasn't had a ghoul because I was thinking he could save a human from death who happened to know some information that he was interested in and then keep her around for a while just to study the relationship between vampire and ghoul. He would be approaching it from an objective standpoint. In the meantime, she is just trying to reconcile between this new life and all the crap she believed about her own. Anyway, sorry for the synopsis. It wouldn't be romance, aside from the obsessive admiration that ghouls usually get from their masters. *coughHeatherPoecough*

Yes, romantic, but also kind of sad too. As soon as Beckett appears he's never around for very long. Always on the move, that man... All that coming and going can make a Malkavian girl question her shattered reality (and really, she's crazy enough without the added stress of a long-distance relationship). Still, whenever he does decide to show himself, it must make for a very welcome return indeed.

Agreed, Beckett is definitely one of the best characters in the game. I'm happy to hear you don't mind this, I was really worried people would throw me under a bus for it.

Well, it wasn't written on purpose, I had another story - Ilma (my Trem girl) and LaCroix were enemies, well, should have been enemies...now I'm translating my fic so you'll see. And such kind of pairing came to me randomly, it's another writing and I'm not sure I'll ever show it...well, a quite strange pair 'cause Ilma is on Anarch side (yes! I can seem you mad xD) and they couldn't be together. So she left...another story which I wanna continue but I don't treat seriously. Or fear to do it.
