I know the feeling. Oh, I had demand, but it was rarely backed with good $$$, so in the end it ended up burning me out for a ten year patch.

Nice work! But pointillism is not the correct description of this technique. Pointillism is the use of pure colors dotted in close to each other so that the eye is fooled into thinking that the colors are mixed to yield a blended color. Like lithography dots. When you use dots of only one color, it is called "Stippling."
