..i force myself shoot any concept...any subject...
that's the golden key like shooting for different kind of client.

I have many friends over here only shoot what they like...what
they think more up-date and more classy.....
This is good for self hobby but not a good way if they goes business, they sure get frusted, headached because client always
see ...want another angle/concept/idea that we may not like.

That's why I always guide my friend...make sure you choose
photography is for ONLY HOBBY or for making $$$.
There's different directions need aware, cannot simple follow
the trend...

This shots earn me 1,200 for the temple cathalogue....ya, bingo ...client are chinese !
Try imagine...if i keep follow this project step by step
each month it's changes....how much you gonna earn or they will
demand buy it during the complete project launching day ?

That's why i see things as a subject for making income and a pratical no matter it's so uncle/auntie chinese or classy european.

Love the way how u expose the boy beside the window and the kids behind him while keeping the surroundings dark and mysterious. Very very meaningful shot. Love it!

Yes, I also like shots with grain.

It is difficult not to become stereotype in this modern world. One must consider all the possibilities in photography, especially if you want to make art.

...ya, my opinion...depends on subject.
I still remember i saw an old days SLR Photography book that those days, some professional purposely creates many kinds of grain/noise/texture effect over thier photo using darkroom skills or double exposure to achieved original shoot without darkroom.

...but all this unique skills seldom seen anymore because in Commercial , many challenging camera push young generations into up-grade few thousand dollar to achieved higher smooth grain.
That's good have such new fine technology but sometimes i need understood that does it necessary to have all our shoots in finest grain possible ?
Do I really need keep up-grade all latest equiptment to have a good photograph ?

...i won't do that...haa.ha...

Thanks for sharing..

Technology can also have its downside.
We sometimes have to do what we must to survive, but we must also remain true to ourselves.

Keep up the good work

Show me the grain

Wow, so your other works, "story book" and "my grades" (I think those were the names...) were actually part of a single picture? Brilliant!

FREEDOM8111 In reply to edsamac [2007-10-31 03:34:24 +0000 UTC]

Ya....in Imaging, I can crop wide angle picture into different way look at it.
If i don't own good wide lense to cover wider interior....I 'll shoot continues two shot to merge them together or break it anytime...same as my pratical on FIFA Final Match Wide Angle Sigma mix Nikon Fish Eye teory.

I have a friend beside me shooting this student too that day but she's have one original good shift wide angle lens, she shoot easily beside me and no need crack head like me .
....but technology able me at least stand up enjoy such expensive hobbies !
....while results compare to my friends that shoot beside me are even greater...

....should i go on invest like her or i safe my budget for bowl of rice ?
...i prefer improved my knowledge on software than invest on tools....it's just a hobbies anyway !

Yeah, I remember your FIFA shot. That was a very impressive shot, and the way you edited it was practically flawless.

I say save your budget for a bowl of rice. Unless you "really" must... sometimes, a hobby can make you feel like collecting lenses... but that's simply because Photography is more than just taking pictures.

If it's in appreciating the beauty of the camera itself, than collecting lenses is more than understood... but if it's for capturing the moment and creating beautiful images, then there's no need to overdo it and buy extremely expensive equipment.

I tend to veer on both sides of the scale. To me, photography is both capturing images and enjoying the beauty of the camera itself. Such an interesting art.

ya,....love this hobbies ' photography '.

If, my job is a reporter or Journalist...i need everything Original.
Then to get best Original,I need try to have the best equiptment shoot
without any touch-up or manupulating because my mission is on reporting and presenting the real senario.happening as a Journalist.....but,

...as a fun Hobby Shooter or Commercial making income, this is another issue...another kind of talent needs blend into modern world of challenging...making income.

A poster of a Fried Chicken or a Pizza actually not same as what we get at counter and the public accepted that picture in the poster are Advertisement photography skills....they won't claim ' cheat ' or ' fake '....majority just enjoy see that beautiful yummy food on poster, then buy it....

...so, to my opinion, we needs understood different approach of individual choice....to be a Reporter style photographer which must only shoot real 100% original un-manupulating or to be a Commercial photographer style....produce final masterpiece using all his best possible multy-skills blended !

....let's enjoy our own choice...love photography !
