Description Made for Myth Contest

Csodaszarvas means Wonderdeer in Hungarian language.
This animal comes from the ancient hungarian myths, but appears later in the christian Eustachius and Huberus myths too. The wonderdeer was the symbol of the starry sky among Eurasian people and some of the native tribes in North-America.
He carries the red, rising sun between his horns and stars on the tips of the horns and on his fur. The evening-star is on his forehead and the silvery circle of the moon on his breast.

-------
I got pretty excited when I first read about this contest. I wanted to make something hungarian since our myths are not so well-known. So I made this small purse decorated with the Wonderdeer.
The purse is made of black viscose and is hand sewn. Between the two layers of viscose there is thick canvas, so the purse is stronger and not so thin.
I emboidered the deer with silvery thread and seed beads. The moon is a metal circle. The sun is mother-of-pearl layered with plastic.
The strap is made of satin strings wich I braided together with the silver thread.

The purse is 19x21cm, the strap is 123cm long.

Thanks! I chose this myth because it's not too well-known, so this way people can learn something new and also because this is a gorgeous creature
