I know this is an older post but was curious how you cut where the real zipper is?

I know this is an older project, but I'm working on Yoko boots now and this guide is pretty useful! When you cut for the zipper line did you just cut a line down and then cut out squares?

No, no, of course, thank you so much for asking! You're very kind, I see you're selling some staff, don't you? I didn't mean to sound rude (when I say that in spanish I guess it sounds better! xDDDD)

That's pretty much exactly how I made mine, lulz, only I attached my zippers by putting them on jewelry findings punched through the pleather. It gave the zippers a nice dangle, but they did have a tendency to fall off.

Yeah, I kinda just ghetto rigged my zippers LOL
But jewelry findings sounds like a really good idea. ^^
and cool!!

It's probably more secure than what I did. Maybe if I combined sewing with them. Hmmm... I really want to redo my Yoko cosplay at some point, or possibly go as Flight Attendant Yoko (with my gun). This Yoko doesn't need her Kamina to keep cosplaying. XP

hahaa that would be awesome! I am redoing mine too, and I'm really serious about getting everything right this time. x3
Good luck to you! I love her flight attendant outfit as well and I am making a new gun too, having trouble finding a good tutorial though. lol
and thats a good way to be! xDD

Here's a suggestion for next time: paint a base layer of Flat Black down first before applying your Silver. I build movie props, and I was told this (though they didn't give a real valid reason as to why) was to help. Tell me how it comes out if you decide to do it.

I just built a quickdraw gun slide like the one in "Taxi Driver". I build what sparks my interest. In fact, if your interested, I'll send you the link to the site or it's youtube page. They show you how to build movie props, create special effects, and filming techniques for amateur filmmakers.
I know why you prime it with black. In case the Silver is scratched/worn away, it still looks realistic underneath.
