Description
A fascinating aspect of Toho's Showa era revolves around the unmade projects that we only have glimpses of. One of these un-filmed movies was the early concept of what would eventually become Godzilla vs. Gigan. Originally titled "Return of King Ghidorah", this would have teamed him up with Rodan and Varan to face off against the trio of cosmic monsters King Ghidorah, Gigan (with a retractable morning star for one appendage) and Mogu, a monster that was never realized, save for a rough illustration.It sounded like this could have been yet another great monster free-for-all a la Destroy All Monsters, and the concept of 3 earth monsters with very little to offer on the offense (save for Godzilla's atomic ray) going up against a triumvirate of heavily armed space kaiju sounds appealing.
So of course, I complied...

Even though I would miss anguirus, this should have been real version of Godzilla vs Gigan. Would have ended up in my top 5 if the movie had this 6 monster roster and plot. Perhaps they could always remake this concept later after the 2016 Godzilla film.

I actually would have chose this script over the final product to make the movie more exciting. So what if Gigan has a Morning Star, I personally think that would be awesome. That appendage would have made Godzilla: Final Wars even more awesome! Adding in the fact that Rodan and Varan (personal favorite) would appear, that would have been compelling to see Godzilla with two less-stronger monsters fighting King Ghidorah and two equivalent strong monsters fight. Personally, I think Varan would have kicked Mogu's ass.

Ah yes now it makes sense just like Godzilla vs. Redmoon. I still can't believe they replaced that with Godzilla vs. Hedorah the smog monster. Pfft that's so stupid that other movie would have been way, way better then that one.

Good point, it would have been a good movie, but then we wouldn't have had hedorah, and without hedorah, we wouldn't have not-Hedorah, and if we didn't have not hedorah I wouldn't have had my awesome re-design of not-hedorah :C

There's always one monster who gets the beatdown. Usually that honor goes to Angilas. I figured without him, Varan would be a natural runner-up. LOL
